This is a review for a weekly food subscription box called Green Blender. For more details about how Green Blender works check out my previous reviews. Out of the five recipes this week I gave two recipes five out of five stars, one recipe four stars and two recipes three stars. The calorie range this week was from 95 to 233. My favorite recipe was the Carrot Coconut Zinger Smoothie.

Mango Apple Avocado

I gave this recipe three out of five stars. I'm not a big fan of mango and the main flavor of this smoothie was mango and avocado. If you love mango, you'll love this one for sure. The avocado makes it a bit thick. The mango was very ripe so I made this recipe first. The avocado wasn't ripe, so I used one I had on hand that was already ripe. Ingredients were curly kale, mango, gala apple, avocado, flaxseed, acai berry, water and ice. It had 214 calories and it provides detox, immune boosting and calming benefits.

Grapefruit Almond

I love grapefruit, so I was excited to try this one. Hubby gave it five out of five stars and I gave it four. The strongest flavors were the grapefruit and the avocado. Ingredients were rainbow chard, grapefruit, red grapes, avocado, almonds, pomegranate powder, coconut water and ice. This one had 233 calories and it provides immune boosting and anti-inflammatory benefits.

Classic Strawberry Rhubarb Pie

Wow, this one looked like Pepto-Bismol. Thankfully, it didn't taste like that. I gave this one four out of five stars. Since the banana was very ripe, I peeled it and placed it in the freezer so that it would keep a few days. Ingredients were banana, strawberry, rhubarb, lucuma powder, cashews, water and ice. The main flavors in this one were banana and strawberry. It has 151 calories and it provides energy, beauty and immune boosting benefits.

Basil Cantaloupe Refresh

I gave this recipe three out of five stars since it had a strong basil taste that I wasn't crazy about. I had to wait a couple of days for the pear to ripen a bit.  Ingredients were baby spinach, cantaloupe, pear, basil, camu camu, pea protein, water and ice. This one only had 95 calories! It provided protein, beauty and immune boosting benefits.

Carrot Coconut Zinger

I was surprised that this one was my favorite smoothie for the week since it has so much carrot in it. It had a strong lime, orange and coconut flavor and the goji berries provided the sweetness. I used coconut water instead of water for this one to add some more flavor. Ingredients were carrots, naval orange, gala apple, Persian lime, shredded coconut, goji berries, water and ice. It had 222 calories and it provided energy, beauty and immunity boosting benefits.

It was yet another enjoyable week of smoothies. I just finished the fifth box and the sixth box just arrived, so I'm working hard to catch up with my reviews. The weeks have been going by so quickly with this subscription. They really motivate me to make smoothies daily in the morning since they provide everything I need and they taste so good. Just a few minutes is spent cleaning the produce and then a couple more blending them and voila, I'm eating the perfect breakfast full of nutrition. To do the same thing on my own I would have to purchase a bunch of expensive booster superfoods and find storage space for them, so this is so much easier. For example, this week we were provided ten of them: camu camu, pea protein, lucuma powder, cashews, flaxseed, acai berry, almonds, pomegranate powder, shredded coconut and goji berries. Each one is around $10-$20 per bag, so that would be a minimum of $100 just to stock up! Most likely I wouldn't be able to use up all of each bag prior to it's expiration and I hate waste. While I will chose my favorites and stock up on those, I won't have the variety of superfoods as provided by Green Blender. So that's just a couple of reasons I highly recommend you give this subscription box a try!
