For two people three recipes costs $68.94 and for four people it's $137.88. They also offer a box for six people. Each serving costs $11.49 except breakfast which offers two recipes for the price of one. They offer choices of Paleo, Vegetarian, Chef's Choice, Gluten Free and Rise & Shine. There are nine recipes to chose from each week. Chef's Choice includes three seasonal dinner recipes. Rise & Shine includes two breakfasts and two dinners. They have a recycling program in which every other week you can return the ice packs, insulation and the cardboard for free. Simply go to their website and print out a return label and schedule a pickup from USPS. The jars and bottles are Green Ware and are plant based resin which are biodegradable and compostable. There are six weeks of deliveries listed on their website that you can select to have set to deliver or skip, but they only show next week's menu in advance. The recipe instructions for that week can be previewed. Their recipe cards are 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and are printed in color on cardstock. This week out of the four recipes we gave two recipes four out of five stars and two recipes three out of five stars. Calories for these recipes range from 350 to 750. Preparation times range from five minutes to thirty.

Tropical Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are quite popular these days, so I really wanted to try one to see if I would like it. I really enjoyed this for breakfast, it's such a nice change from the same old thing. Breakfast has been quite boring and unappetizing to me lately, so I've been on the hunt for something healthy and different. Just look at the photo above, it's so appetizing! I enjoyed all the different textures and it being so nutrient rich. The granola was really delicious and the smoothie mixed with it was yummy. I hope to see another smoothie bowl on their menu very soon. I gave it four out of five stars.  It would have been five stars if they hadn't forgot to send me the turmeric spice. They gave me a refund for this recipe since they forgot that ingredient which was very generous. This recipe had 400 calories and it was filling. It had 5 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber.

Oaxacan Chocolate Overnight Oatmeal

Overnight oatmeal is another breakfast item that has become popular lately and I was anxious to give it a try. I like how you make it ahead of time, so when you wake up you just reach for it in the fridge and eat! I was a bit anxious about eating oatmeal cold, but to my surprise it was enjoyable. While it was delicious, the portion was too large for me and it involved so much chewing! I think it would have been better with a little milk or almond milk to make it a bit easier on the jaw. I gave it three out of five stars since it involved too much time and chewing to eat. I also found that I needed to add some Stevia and some more cinnamon to increase the sweetness and spice. It had 350 calories and it was very filling. It had 10 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber. When they offer another overnight oatmeal recipe I'll be sure to order it.

Persian Chicken Dumpling & Egg Noodle Soup

Yum, yum in the tum tum! Hubby and I both gave this recipe four out of five stars. We really enjoyed it and it was a very generous portion.  The only change we would make is to add more fresh basil, mint and parsley. It was very tasty and such a comforting meal. I'd love to have it again soon. It had 750 calories and it took much longer than the thirty minutes indicated. We wanted the herbs and all the ingredients to simmer together longer for more flavor, so it took us an hour. This would be the perfect meal to make on the weekend when you have time to let it simmer for a couple of hours and it makes the house smell so good. It had 42 grams of protein and 13 grams of fiber.

Thai Turkey Lettuce Cups

We've had a lot of different versions of lettuce wraps lately and this one wasn't our favorite. It had less calories though coming in at only 670. I couldn't eat the pickled carrots since I can't stomach anything that has been pickled, so I didn't get to experience the full flavor. I wish I had noticed that prior to choosing this recipe. Also, the Thai dressing had leaked in the bag, so we had about half the original amount. They gave us a refund on this recipe which was very generous. We gave it three out of five stars. It took about only twenty minutes to prepare since they already prepared the Thai dressing, pickled carrots and lemongrass paste. I really appreciate that they prepared them in advance for us to save time, it's especially helpful after a long day at work! This is a paleo recipe that is gluten free with 39 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber.

We really enjoyed our first box and look forward to the next shipment. I'm hoping that they will offer Friday or Saturday delivery soon since Hubby is out of town a lot, so Tuesday & Wednesday delivery isn't convenient those weeks. I especially love their breakfast offerings and I wish they had an option of choosing just breakfast. I also like that you get two breakfast recipes for the same price of one dinner recipe. I also appreciate their lower price for organic, non GMO food than the competition. I highly recommend Sun Basket and suggest you give their service a try.
