Mustard Roasted Pork with Spring Pea Salad & Crispy Shallots
This is a review of the eighth box we have received from Plated. The winning dish this week was the Roast Beef Spiced Steak. Second place goes to the Chicken Souvlaki and last place goes to the Mustard Roasted Pork.
Roast Beef Spiced Steak Salad with Horseradish Dressing
This dish was surprising delicious. At first glance, I thought there was way too much arugula but it wasn't after all and it was really tasty. The horseradish dressing was really good and I don't normally enjoy that flavor at all! This dish tasted like something you would get at a famous New York city deli. The seasoning really did make the steak taste like roast beef. I was a bit worried about the bread though since it arrived a bit dry so we made this dish first because I don't think it would have been ok the next day. The bread would have tasted better with garlic powder mixed together with melted butter and then brushed on the bread rather than rubbing garlic on it or toasting it in garlic. The roasted tomatoes were also delicious and a nice compliment to the meal. All in all we were very satisfied with this dish and had happy, full tummies.
Chicken Souvlaki with Spinach Feta Rice
This dish was very tasty! This was the first time we had tzatziki with dill in it and it was surprising good. It gave the cucumbers more of a pickled taste and since I can't eat pickles due to IBS, I really enjoyed it. Hubby made this one and mistakenly put the spinach in with the chicken. It didn't matter since we both ate it all mixed together rather than two separate parts since it tasted better that way. The yogurt marinate really made the chicken very tender and delicious.
Mustard Roasted Pork with Spring Pea Salad & Crispy Shallots
This dish was pretty good and we tasted herbes de providence for the first time. I thought there was just a bit too much herbes de providence on this dish. Also, we did not like the spring pea salad served cold. It would have been so much better served warm. Hubby forgot to add the peas since they were in the back of the refrigerator and he didn't see them. So the peas were served on top of our dogs' dinner so they didn't go to waste.

We are taking a three week break from Plated since I don't care for any of the recipes they are offering those weeks. So we are going with Hello Fresh instead those weeks. That's one of the nice things about Plated, you can view the dishes weeks in advance.
I also reviewed Blue Apron & Hello Fresh which are similar food subscription boxes. So check those out before you leave and don't forget to claim your Free Graze Box and enter my Blue Apron Giveaway. What do you think of my recipe results? I'm thinking about trying out Home Chef. Has anyone tried that subscription box before?
