Ingredients for Shrimp & Tomato Farrotto
This is a review of a recipe from a food subscription service called Hello Fresh. This is the second recipe we have tried so far. This one is more time consuming than the previous one we tried. The farro & sauce take quite a bit of time to cook so this one landed up taking about fifty minutes. Hubby & I have never tried farro before and we didn't care for it at all. It's a very earthy flavor with a tough texture that takes a lot of chewing time. This is a dish you can't eat quickly. The flavor of the rest of the dish was nice so perhaps substituting something for farro would make this dish better for our taste. After a bit of research I found out it's best to soak the farro in water the night before, so I wish they had added that hint to this recipe. It's suppose to be very healthy. Farro has a lot of fiber, so it is very filling, so much so that I couldn't eat it all. I like to eat healthy, but I just didn't care for it enough to incorporate it into our diet.
Stay tuned for my review of the last recipe in our box, Skillet Chicken Paprikash. Before you leave, read about the precious recipe we tried: Ginger Beef Stir-Fry.
