Giveaway & Blue Apron Food Subscription Box Review - Part 6

Ingredients for Roasted Poblano Chilaquiles with Sunny Side-Up Eggs & Avocado

Recipe Results

This is a review of a food subscription box called Blue Apron. This is the sixth recipe we have tried and it's from our second shipment. We have never tried cooking with cotija cheese, poblano peppers nor chilaquiles spices before, so this is an exciting recipe for us to try. Oh my gosh, this dish was so delicious and it tasted like nothing I've ever tried before. We ate it for dinner, but it would be perfect for breakfast. We plan to make this again soon, it's a spicy celebration in your mouth! The only changes I would make are to toast the chips a little bit longer and place them outside of the bowl to use for dipping. The chips on the bottom weren't as crisp after sitting in the bowl with the moist ingredients. What an awesome recipe!

Check out my reviews of the other recipes we made from our first & second Blue Apron boxes:

Our third box from Blue Apron featured the following recipes:

Crispy Catfish & Cracked Freekeh with Kumquat, Thai Basil & Chile Glaze
Pork Dan Dan Noodles with Watermelon Radish & Garlic-Lime Peanuts
Pan-Roasted Chicken with Lacinato Kale & Purple Potato Hash

Look for the full reviews this week. The Catfish was so incredibly good it's worth repeating very soon. Wow are kumquats yummy! We enjoyed the Pork Dan Dan dish but we wouldn't make it again. The watermelon radish was so colorful and not as strong in flavor as the US version. We will be having the Pan Roasted Chicken dish tomorrow.

Our forth box arriving next Friday will feature the following recipes:

Corned Beef Spiced Flank Steak with Braised Cabbage & Buttered Red Potatoes
Turkey Chilli with Avocado & Cheddar Cheese
Tom Yum Style Shrimp & Noodles with Gai Lan & Thai Basil

Our fifth box will feature the following recipes:

Short Rib Burgers on Pretzel Buns
Spicy Thai Chicken Noodle Soup
Roasted Salmon, Fennel & Castelvetrano Olives

I love how all the recipes use such unique, hard to find ingredients and they look so complicated and difficult but they are actually easy to cook and your finished dish makes you look like an very experienced chef!

I also reviewed Plated & Hello Fresh subscription boxes. So check those out before you leave. Have you tried one of these food subscription boxes or are you thinking about trying one? I'm so glad we found something to make cooking exciting and fun again. These boxes are my new addiction!
