New Movie Trailers for Spring 2019

My Top Ten Spring Movie Picks

Shazam!

The trailer made me laugh several times, so this is on the top of my must-see list. It looks like a fun movie with lots of laughs. "Hi there, I'm an action hero", so funny. The young actor, Jack Dylon Grazer is always entertaining. You may remember him from the CBS comedic television show called Me, Myself & I. You may also remember Zachary Levi from the tv series called Chuck. This movie is 2 hours and 12 minutes long. They have partnered with the southern fast food chain Zaxby's. Zaxby's is offering two chicken sandwiches inspired by this movie for a limited time, the Zaxville Hot Sandwich & Honey Butter Bacon Sandwich. Soar to your nearest theatre on April 5th for this much needed comic relief.

Little

The trailer is full of laughs, so it's on my list at the top. "I'm April with an A for available" and "We have a BMW situation, black mama whopping", so funny! Another incredible young actor in this one. Regina Hall, Issa Rae, and Marsai Martin are the main actors and there's a very funny scene with Justin Hartley. Soap opera fans will remember him from the Young & the Restless. Comedic fans put this one on your calendar for April 12th. Remember to not spit out or choke on your popcorn when laughing.

Long Shot

This one stars Seth Rogen who I always find funny and pretty, dramatic actress Charlize Theron. It will be nice to see her in a comedic role. While they seem like quite the odd couple, it sure does look funny. Seth & Charlize fans look for this two-hour comedy on May 3rd.

The Hustle

This is the female version of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels starring Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson. This movie looks like another fun movie with lots of laughs and some lovely scenery. Look for this one May 10th.

Tolkien

If you're a LOTR (Lord of the Rings) fan you must put this movie on your list. At the very least it looks visually entertaining and it may offer a nice escape from reality. LOTR fans be sure to visit your local theatre on May 10th to see this one. I'll be seeing this one with Hubby who is a LOTR superfan.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum

I'm not as big of a fan of Keanu Reeves as I use to be, but this movie looks like perhaps it shouldn't be skipped. The plot looks a bit loose, but it looks visually entertaining with lots of action. If you're a John Wick fan check this one out on May 17th.

Aladdin

This one almost didn't make the cut, but since Will Smith is in it and it's a Disney movie I'll give it a go. It may be really entertaining and fun or truly boring but for sure it looks visually entertaining. If you are a Will Smith fan, check this one out on May 24th. Hopefully, he will be in lots of scenes.

Ma

I will be going to see this movie since Octavia Spencer is such a great actress and I always find her entertaining to watch. This horror flick looks like it will be quite thrilling. I'm anxious to see it! Octavia and thriller fans put it on your calendar for May 31st.

Rocketman

Since I'm an Elton John fan this one goes right to the top of my list of must-see movies. If you're a fan also, make sure you hit the theatre to see this one on May 31st. If it's anything like Bohemian Rhapsody it will be very enjoyable.

Bad Boys 3 is supposed to be released on May 24th, but the trailer isn't available yet. After doing further research sadly Bad Boys 3 aka Bad Boys for Life won't be released until January 2020. So there you have it my list of nine movies instead of ten to see this Spring. Hotel Mumbai moves up to number 10. They should keep you busy and entertained. I'm happy to report that there are plenty of comedies to keep you cheerful which is a lovely change. So which ones are you putting on your list to see?

Now on to a quick note about some of the movies that you may be interested in that didn't make the cut:
  • A WWII drama called The Aftermath with Keira Knightley will be released on March 15th. Not a fan of Keira, but I may see it on DVD.
  • March 22nd Hotel Mumbai is a thriller with Dev Patel and Us is a thriller featuring Lupita Nyong'o. These movies made number 11 and 12 on my list. Hotel Mumbai looks exciting and I'm Dev fan, but Us may be a bit too scary for some.
  • Beachbum is a comedy that looks more sad than funny with Matthew McConaughey releasing on March 29th along with Dumbo featuring Michael Keaton, Danny Devito, and Colin Farrell. Dumbo has the potential to be very sad, but it looks visually entertaining with many famous actors. I may see it on DVD and I'll skip the sad parts. While I'm a big McConaughey fan, it looks like a movie that just makes fun of him and as a result too sad for me. That kind of comedy isn't funny to me.
  • On April 5th Stephen King's Pet Semetary with scary John Lithgow and The Best of Enemies based on a true story set in Durham, NC with Taraji P. Henson and Sam Rockwell. Lithgow's acting may be reason enough to see it if you don't mind King's fear tactics. I fear animal abuse on this one, so I'm skipping it. The Best of Enemies has to the potential for incredible acting, I shall see it on DVD.
  • April 17th a heartbreaking and sappy movie called Breakthrough with Chrissy Metz and Topher Grace. Too sappy for me, I'll skip it even though I'm a big Topher fan.
  • April 19th Drunk Parents with actors Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek. Doesn't look funny which is a shame since the plot has the potential to be.
  • April 26th a thriller with Dennis Quaid called The Intruder. I'll watch this one on DVD. Strange to see Dennis play a crazy person, that alone is a reason to watch.
  • May 31st another Godzilla movie with Vera Farmiga. Just can't get into Godzilla movies, too fake looking to me. I'll rent it on DVD and watch with Hubby who enjoys them.
