Ingredients for Chicken & Nectarine Panzanella
Ingredients for Crispy Skillet Chicken
Ingredients for Seared Steak & Creamy Chipotle Pan Sauce
This is a review of our 7th box from a subscription called Hello Fresh. The last shipment didn't arrive cold enough and since then they have changed their packaging so I decided to give them another try. Thankfully, this shipment arrived in great shape. Some of the ice packs were still frozen, so that was a really good sign. This week our favorite recipe was Chicken & Nectarine Panzanella, followed by the Crispy Skillet Chicken and last but not least the Seared Steak & Chipotle Pan Sauce recipe.
Chicken & Nectarine Panzanella
What a wonderful, tasty summer salad this recipe makes! The bread that was sent was too good to make into croutons and since I hate croutons, we just ate it on the side with Irish butter. It was so delicious, I'm craving it now. It just like the kind you get at a steakhouse prior to your steak arriving. This portion was large enough to save some for a light lunch the next day but I decided to eat it all since it was so yummy. I wish they had given us twice as much bread, that way I would have definitely saved some of the dish for the next day. We also used half of the white wine vinegar because my stomach usually has a bad reaction to it, so that solved the problem. One would think that adding fruit to chicken might be a bad idea, but it was really delicious. It was a wonderful combination and it's a recipe I would definitely repeat. If it was served at a restaurant nearby, I'd order it on a regular basis. Healthy and delicious, a wonderful combination! This recipe took about 35 minutes and had 700 calories. I'm surprised it has that many calories, maybe a smaller portion would be best. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
Crispy Skillet Chicken with Bulgar Paella, Carrots & Apricots
This recipe was delicious and chicken thighs while cooking smell so yummy. We really didn't cook with chicken thighs prior to subscribing to these food subscriptions and now we are more likely to purchase them over chicken breasts since they have so much more flavor. The dried apricots added a wonderful sweetness, though I think this recipe needed a bit more. The bulgar was perfectly cooked and it's a comfort food for me. I shared pieces of the carrots with our dogs since there were so many. I passed on adding the lemon juice, we tend not to like much lemon juice on our dinners. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. This recipe has 875 calories and took about 40 minutes to prepare. It was a generous portion so saving a bit for the next day would lower the calories.
Seared Steak & Creamy Chipotle Pan Sauce with Poblano, Corn & Crispy Potato Hash
Hubby enjoyed this one more than I, he gives it 4 stars and I give it 3 out of five. I think it was the adobo sauce that I didn't like. He ate a lot of it and was sweating as a result. My mouth was on fire after eating it. I enjoy some spicy foods, but this one wasn't my cup of tea. I enjoyed the poblano, potatoes and corn mixture a lot. It was suppose to take 40 minutes to prepare but it took much longer. This recipe had 689 calories and it was a generous portion.
