This is a review of my December Ipsy Glam Bag. I've been on pause since April and I forgot to pause again for December. This month they sent an additional item for the holidays. Normally they send 5 cosmetic samples for $10 a month including shipping. The approximate retail value of my December bag not including the cosmetic bag is $49.50. Included in this month's bag are the following products:
- The Crème Shop - Holiday Mask Trio, made in Korea, $3.00 retail value each
- Ciaté - Glitter Flip Transforming Glitter Liquid Lipstick in Infamous, .05 fl. oz., $8.50 retail value
- Kiss & Smink - The Everything in Tulum, made in China, $20 retail value
- The Balm Cosmetics - Nude Beach Eyeshadow in Bootylicious, made in Poland, .046 oz., $3.00 retail value
- F.A.R.A.H. Brushes - Tapered Blending Brush 35E, $10.00 retail value
- Katherine Cosmetics - Natural All Over Powder in Sienna, made in China, .04 oz., $5.00 approximate retail value
I'm happy to see sheet masks in my bag since I really enjoy them. While a lot of them don't seem to make a lot of difference other than moisturizing, they are relaxing. I keep mine in the refrigerator for even more cooling. The Ciaté Lipstick is matte with little pieces of glitter. It feels very dry on the lips, but it's a pretty color. I'm not sure I'd wear it to work, but it would be fun for a party or dinner out. The Kiss & Smink is a pretty color, but it's from China and I tend to stay away from products made there. I also dislike creme blushes since I find them very difficult to blend. It's too wide to use as a lipstick without using a lip brush. The F.A.R.A.H. Brush is pretty, it's not the highest quality, but it will do. The Katherine Cosmetics All Over Powder is too metallic to apply all over the face, I'd stick to using it as a highlighter only. Again, another made in China product I won't be using. This is the main reason I only occasionally have an Ipsy bag shipped to me, most of the products are of lower quality, with brands I've never heard of unlike Macy's Beauty Box and Play by Sephora. The Balm eyeshadow is a pretty color, but I tend to shy away from wearing browns since I don't find them flattering on my fair skin. The cosmetic bag is really pretty, it's nicer than the similar one that Macy's sent this month. The back matches the tassel, it's in faux black leather. It's nice enough to use as an evening clutch.
My favorite items are the sheet masks, lipstick, and the brush. My least favorite items are the all over face powder and the Kiss & Smink product. If you received a Glam Bag this month, which product is your favorite? If you didn't, which cosmetic subscription boxes do you subscribe to?
