Greek Salad

This is a review of a Greek fast food restaurant located in Winston Salem, North Carolina called The Olive Tree. It's located in building that was a Taco Bell a long time ago. They have been open twenty years! They are open from 6 am until 9 pm Monday-Saturday and Sunday they open an hour later. We arrived on a Sunday around 2 pm. We found only one table left. If you are visiting during the busiest hours expect to have to carry out due to limit seating. They only have a couple of tables, but they are currently renovating so that they will have additional tables for customers soon. They are open during the renovation.

Hubby and I both ordered the Gyro Plate. They cook your order after you place it so it's nice and fresh. It wasn't that long of a wait, about ten minutes. We both regret purchasing the Gyro Plate since it wasn't what we were expecting. The salad was not your typical Greek salad since it was missing key ingredients such as olives and feta cheese! So we made ours into a gyro since the salad was so disappointing. The lamb slices were tasty and the pita is served warm. The fries were average. I recommend ordering a Gyro Sandwich for $6.55 instead. For $9.15 we expected more. 

I'd recommend this restaurant, if you work in the area and you need a quick lunch. For us it wasn't up to our standards, so we have not returned. What's your favorite restaurant in Winston Salem?
