Teddy's Tasty Treats - Dog Cookie Recipe

Teddy's Tasty Treats

Ingredients:

2 1/2  Cups oat flour
2        Sweet potatoes
4        Tablespoons chicken broth
1/4     Cup dried parsley
1         Applesauce cup 3.9 oz

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325° F.

Microwave sweet potatoes for 7-8 minutes.  Open microwave and squeeze sweet potatoes with a kitchen towel. They will be very soft and squishy when they are cooked long enough.  Let them cool till they are cool enough to touch.   Scoop out center of sweet potatoes with a spoon and place in mixing bowl.  Make sure no skin is included since sweet potato skin is bad for dogs.

Add all other ingredients to mixing bowl and mix with a fork until it has this consistency:

Tear off a sheet of parchment paper and place on counter top.  Sprinkle some oat flour on top.  Roll out the dough on the parchment paper with a rolling pin or by hand making sure they are 1/4 inch thick.  Using a cookie cutter, or in my case a measuring cup since I didn't have one on hand, cut out the cookies.  Roll out the remaining dough again and continue cutting out cookies until there is no dough remaining:

Place cookies on cookie baking sheets:

Place cookie sheet in oven for 40 minutes.  Turn off oven and leave cookies in oven for 1-2 hours.  Take cookies out of oven to cool:

Serve cookie samples to your dogs.  Place remaining cookies in airtight container or ziploc bag:

Sweet! A dog treat that my corn and wheat allergic Great Dane can enjoy. Pay is nearly here. Getting some oat flour and making them some COOKIES! I have 2 Great Danes. One can eat anything, one is very food sensitive. Thank you so very much for a recipe I can give to my sensitive baby!

You're welcome, CZPhoenix! I found it very difficult to find dog cookie recipes that don't use wheat, so I came up with my own. One of my 4 dogs can't have wheat and the others snub their nose at wheat cookies.

I found out VitaCost.com sells oat flour much cheaper than anywhere else. You could also use rice flour. Send me a message and I'll send you a link for $10 off your first order also!
