When I found out the Downton Abbey Movie was coming out the day before my birthday, September 20th, I was thrilled, it makes for the perfect birthday present. My excitement was turned into disappointment when I found out that due to its huge success the seats were reserved in advance and sold out for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! Wow! Monday was mostly reserved also and since I don't like crowds we waited until Tuesday to see it. This movie is a must-see for any Downton Abbey fan, you must make time to see it in the theatre. It is visually spectacular on the big screen. The camera techniques they used make you feel like you are in the room with the characters during many of the indoor scenes. It was wonderfully done! The movie is based around the arrival of the King & Queen of England, the parade, the dinner party, and the dance. Also, we have fun watching the bickering between the royal staff and the Crawley's staff and the trickery done by Crawley's staff. Check out the trailer:
There were jokes sprinkled throughout the movie and the audience laughed with joy. Having a chance to enjoy these complex characters again and to see another couple of days of their life was an absolute pleasure. Bring a hankey for there is one scene I'm sure will bring tears to your eyes. Walking out the theatre I was filled with sadness since I will miss these characters once again. One can only hope they will return again and they will share another chapter of their lives with us. I'm tempted to see it again in the theatre, it was that fabulous! I will certainly buy it when it comes out on DVD and I'll watch it as soon as it's released so I can step inside the wonderful world of Downton Abbey yet again. I highly recommend you see this movie! I curtsey to everyone who worked so hard to bring us this much-anticipated movie. A delightful treat!
Have a PEACEful Day!
