Cup O' Joe Ice Cream - $6.47

Uji Matcha Latte - $4.50

We visited last Sunday around 2:30 pm. Milk Lab was quite busy, but the line wasn't long. The cash register is located near the front door, so it's difficult to line up. It's difficult to get inside when customers are standing next to the door in line. They should move the register to the other end so the line can form in front of the area they prepare the ice cream. This way the door wouldn't be blocked and the customers would be entertained during their long wait. They have a few tables inside and some outside. The chairs are uncomfortable. The employees are teenagers and there was no sign of any management. The cashier wasn't friendly nor welcoming and when I asked a question about the menu she was short with me and not helpful. I'm sure they have a lot of new customers who have questions about the menu, so they should put someone up front who can explain it with patience and in a friendly, kind and welcoming manner. They have unique offerings so they should expect that many customers will have questions. 1st impressions are extremely important. Anytime I am treated that way the first time I visit it becomes the last time I visit. There is a ton of competition, so I really don't want to spend my money where I'm not treated with kindness and gratitude.

It took about five minutes for my drink to be ready and ten minutes for the ice cream. If it was really busy, the wait would be ridiculous since they have only two people making the ice cream. They yell out the order numbers which are on the receipts and then you retrieve your order from the cashier. I ordered the Uji Matcha Latte. It was too sweet and it tasted watered down. I don't understand why they added ice to it. I didn't ask for ice yet the cashier added it to my order. Usually, Matcha isn't sweet, its earthy flavor is what I enjoy about it. Starbucks Green Tea Frappuccino with 2% milk is much tastier. I don't recommend Milk Lab's version. Hubby ordered the Cup O' Joe which contains espresso and condensed milk. It tasted like Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream to me. It was tasty, but it is colder and harder, warning to those with sensitive teeth. It is made by smearing the liquid ingredients on a frozen metal plate, it freezes and then they use a spatula to roll it up. He chose Chocify for his toppings. They offer unlimited toppings, but there isn't much room since the ice cream takes up all the space in the cup. It's only what they can balance on top. The ice cream cup is what I would call a small. It would easily fit inside a Menchie's cup with room to spare. Hubby liked the ice cream, especially the parts that had the condensed milk, but he didn't care for the toppings. They added 2 chocolate chip cookies (Chips Ahoy), a couple of semi-sweet chocolate chips, a tiny bit of whipped cream, 2 Pocky sticks, and a waffle cone stick. I get the impression that this is a dessert restaurant frequented by those 16 to 29 years old for the purpose of Instagram photos. The desserts are Instagram worthy. The flavors didn't wow me and the unfriendly staff cause me to never return. I give this dessert restaurant two out of five stars. It's good for one visit and a couple of Instagram photos though there is probably a similar restaurant in the area that is better. I will be trying out a couple of them soon. What's your favorite drink and ice cream restaurant?
