QVC's HALO Bolt Portable Charger TSV - October 2016

Halo Bolt Model 57720

This is a preview and review of QVC's Today's Special Value (TSV) for October 4th. It is available to preorder now and the order number is E227260. Simply click on the link to order now. You'll need to use the link to get the lower price. If you type in the order number on QVC.com, it will be shown at the original price until the air date. The TSV price is $89.96 or four payments of $22.49. There are four colors and six patterns to chose from. I purchased the Vintage Floral pattern which is shown above. I ordered it back in January for $10 more. As shown above, it comes with an instruction manual, USB plug, jumper cables, black drawstring cloth bag and it's power cord.

We have an older car which I love having no car payments for, but it has battery issues in the cold winter months when I don't drive it for several days. The funny thing is the first time we used it wasn't for that car, but instead my Husband's young company car. He had left his GPS plugged in overnight and he found out the battery was dead in the morning. He loved using it since it was so easy and quick. No need to align another car with the one that has a dead battery and get the dirty jumper cables out from the garage. Traditional jumper cables take up a lot of trunk space yet the Halo takes up very little space and may even fit in your glove compartment. Once you press the start button on the left you'll see the four green lights on the right which means it has enough power to charge your car's battery. The green light on the left flashes and when it stops it's ready to charge your car's battery. I just took it out of my car today after being in there for months in the hot summer heat and it was ready to go! They have stated that extreme temperature will effect how long it can hold a charge, but I haven't found that to be the case at least for a North Carolina resident. Maybe in hotter states that would be the case. As soon as it arrives at your doorstep unbox it, connect the power cord and plug it in for six hours. Check and make sure it has a full charge and then place it in your car. It can also charge your electronic devices, if they need a micro connector such as the new models of the iPhone and iPad have. In addition, it has an LED floodlight. Instructions for all three are below.

Instructions to charge your car battery:
  1. Plug jumper cable in at the far left front of the HALO charger and connect the black and red clamps to your car battery. Red clamp on + terminal and black clamp on - terminal.
  2. Press the jump start button on the left and wait for a solid green light, it will flash first.
  3. Start your vehicle.
  4. Once the car is running disconnect jumper cables from your car's battery.
Instructions to charge your electronic devices:
  1. Connect device to the USB ports.
  2. Press the on power button.
Instructions for LED floodlight:
  1. Press the on/off LED floodlight button.
I highly recommend purchasing this portable charger! I don't know about you, but I like being independent and solving problems on my own rather than calling AAA and waiting up to an hour for their help. Have you purchased one of these chargers and if so, what has your experience been like?

I purchased 2 of these in January like and my husband and I love love love them. They were a God send over the summer for keeping our phones charged when we spent 3 days away from home when my father in law passed. We haven't had to use them to start the car yet but I'm sure they will work fabulous for that too.

Thank you. I went ahead and bought another one tonight so we can each have one in the house and keep one in the car.

Thank you SO much for this review! I was on the fence about buying it, some reviews were poor and said it didn't hold a charge after a few charging cycles, but your testimonial convinced me to give it a go. Thanks so much for sharing!

You're welcome, Nicole! Yeah, I'm always nervous about ordering when the reviews are mixed. Sometimes people are more likely to complain than compliment.

They sure are handy. Good for use during hurricanes too.

I bought 2, the first time they were a Christmas tsv ( I think the sale was in November). My husband is now the official starter on the block. I keep the other in the house and It works there as well. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for your review, Marsha. Yeah, we bring it indoors during possible power loss due to hurricanes or snow & ice. That's nice of your Hubby :) It's so quick compared to the old fashioned way.
