We visited Mellow Mushroom on a Saturday around 3:30 pm. Hubby was craving pizza and he decided on this restaurant which we had not been to in years. They are open from 11 am until 11 pm every day. Currently, their health score is 98.5 which is very good. When we visited they only had a couple of customers.
Interior Decor
We decided to share a large pizza. Hubby chose Bacon and Portobello Mushrooms and I chose Green Peppers and Onions. We both wanted Italian Sausage. A basic Large Cheese Pizza costs $15.25. The Italian Sausage costs $2.35, Bacon for $1.18, Portobello Mushrooms for $1.17, Green Peppers for $1.18, and Onions for $1.17. In total, they charged us $22.30 for the pizza.

It took a whopping 30 minutes for the pizza to arrive. Note they only had a couple of customers in the dining area and a couple of takeout orders. There were plenty of employees in the kitchen. No excuses, apologies, nothing from the waitress. I've never waited that long for a pizza and for that reason we will not be returning. The pizza didn't taste like it has in the past. We were very disappointed in its lack of flavor and toppings. In the past, they haven't skimped on toppings. You would think with such a long wait they would have given us extra toppings not less. The sausage was crumbled so small that you could barely taste it and that's usually my favorite part. The sauce and cheese were also lacking. Look how wide the crust is in the photo above. The green peppers were sliced so thin so their crispness was gone. Our last Mellow Mushroom experience was at the Winston-Salem location and it was a much better experience.
