Mesa Lavender Farms CBD Review

Mesa Lavender Farms CBD Review

Mesa Lavender Farms located in Colorado generously sent me two of their CBD products for review. They sent:

  1. CBD Salve Tri, 1 ounce, $23.50, chemical analysis *
  2. Full Spectrum CBD, Lavender Lemon Tincture, less than .14% THC, 1 ounce, $63.50 *

Cannabidiol (CBD) can ease symptoms of many common health issues such as anxiety, depression, acne, heart disease, pain, nausea, neurological disorders, diabetes, tumors, mental disorders, arthritis, insomnia, inflammation, and IBS. I've heard it helps with other issues, but these are the most talked about. It is very popular these days so much so that even a farm nearby has decided to grow it for the first time this summer:

Normally you would see them growing tobacco in this location during summer, but since cigarettes aren't nearly as popular as they use to be farmers are choosing to fulfill the consumer demand of CBD by growing hemp. Hemp is restricted to having less than 0.3 percent of THC, the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.

When the CBD Salve arrived I immediately tried it on the top of my right foot from the big toe up to the ankle. It had been hurting for days with no relief from pain creams and patches. I'm not sure if I had injured it or if it was just arthritis which I suffer from. It was more painful than the typical joint pain I feel daily on my feet and hands and sometimes my knees. It was enough pain to be limping. I am happy to report that about 30 minutes later I was feeling relief and by the time I woke up the next morning the pain was gone. No kidding, yeah it seems unbelievable and I was surprised. I have heard a lot of amazing reviews from people over the last couple of years about how CBD has helped them with so many different health issues and I was a bit skeptical, but I believe them now.

Now on to the Full Spectrum CBD drops. After taking them daily in about two weeks all of my joint pain was feeling relief. It didn't go completely away but I could definitely feel a difference. My joint pain started many years ago caused from doing high impact jogging, running, aerobics, and cycling since I was a teenager. It started in my knees and hips and then my feet. Back then a joint supplement was all I needed for relief. Five years ago the pain in my feet became unbearable to the point that I had to stop high impact exercise. The foot doctor was of no help and the joint supplement wasn't good enough anymore. Arthritis is also hereditary and I have psoriasis which may be another cause of it plus aging. I have taken them daily for four weeks now, to give the best evaluation. I always tell people to give supplements two to four weeks to start feeling results. After two weeks I was feeling less joint pain, it was most obvious at the times of day that I normally feel the most pain. At four weeks I'm convinced it has been helping enough to continue taking it for arthritis. I'm someone who prefers to take supplements and vitamins rather than over the counter or prescription medications which don't work well for me anyway. I'm so happy to find something natural that works for my increased levels of joint pain!

I have been dealing with depression and anxiety most of my life. I have been taking a supplement called L-Tyrosine for my depression for about 18 years and it works well enough that I don't have to take any medications. Sure I still have days of depression, especially when under stress, when depressing things happen and certain times of the year such as January and August. They appear to be my worst months, it's become an obvious pattern. Since I started the CBD drops at the beginning of August which is normally one of the two months I have difficulties with depression this was the perfect time to evaluate CBD for depression. I'm happy to report that it was a better month than in previous years. I had a couple days that were rough, but it was much less than normal.

My anxiety has been very high lately due to several health issues and a very stressful last five years. I feel like I'm bracing myself for the next bad thing to happen which causes a lot of anxiety. I'm a lifetime insomniac and night owl (I get energy at night). I've been waking up around 4-6 am most days with a very high level of anxiety filled with irrational doom thoughts that keep me from falling back to sleep for 2-3 hours on average. Sometimes I don't get back to sleep at all. Since taking the CBD drops, I found myself not waking up and sleeping through the night, looking at the time on my phone in shock that I slept through those rough hours. I'm still dealing with anxiety due to my DNA, stress, and perimenopause, but I am very relieved to finally get some relief from those dreaded hours. While I transition from perimenopause into menopause the Andrew Lessman Women's Wellness supplements I have been taking for many years are no longer enough. So the relief given from the CBD drops is worth the price.

I find that the symptoms that arise first in illness or disease are the hardest to treat so they are the last to leave. The symptoms that are last to appear are the first to leave when treated with natural treatments. So keep that in mind when judging products you are trying. Those tougher symptoms will take longer to see results. Also, be sure to give any treatment a full two weeks of daily use for first impressions and another two weeks to be sure of your judgment. Remember this is much shorter than the 6-8 weeks of wait time that prescriptions require.

Now on to a bit about the application and use of these products. The salve is very thick, think lip balm it's about that thick. Since I have long nails I use my knuckle and rub the top of the product back and forth until I get enough on my knuckle to apply. Then simply apply to the part that is causing pain and rub it in. It doesn't take much, wait 20-30 minutes and if you aren't feeling any relief I'd add some more rather than applying too much at first and wasting the product. It smells so wonderful, the lavender scent is aromatherapy at it's finest. The one-ounce jar should last a long time unless you are applying it to a very large area. The CBD Tincture comes with a business card sized chart to determine dosage which is based on your weight and the severity of your symptoms. It's recommended that you start with the lowest dose and work your way up until you find relief and it's in your system long enough. I'd go with the lowest dose for two weeks and see how you feel if not enough relief increase your dose and reevaluate in two weeks. You'll want to use the lowest dose possible so that it's less expensive. If you need immediate relief, are not willing to wait and can afford it then go with the lowest dose for a couple of days and then increase to mid-range for another couple days and on to the highest dose. I can't see through the label to see how much I've used in a month. I'm guessing I'm halfway through the 1 oz. bottle, so it should last at least two months. I went with a low dose the first week then I went with a higher dose for the rest of the month. I don't taste the drops when they are under my tongue and when I swallow it tastes like lavender tea with a squeeze of lemon. If you don't like it, a quick drink of water removes the flavor. I've done some research and heard that you shouldn't take it closer than two hours before bedtime. Some people feel energized after taking the product and some feel ready for bed, you'll have to see how it makes you feel. I've tested it at different times of the day and I find when I feel anxious during the day is the best time for me. I haven't had any side effects from taking the CBD and I've heard you can't overdose. There is a version with no THC which is best for those that may have a random drug test by their employer. There is conflicting information on whether the extremely small amount of THC in the Full Spectrum version (less than 0.3 percent) would show up on a drug test. CBD will not give the high that marijuana does since it has less than 0.3 percent of THC which is what causes it. I have heard that if you need further relief from your symptoms that a combination of CBD and medical marijuana will work.

I'm extremely grateful to Mesa Lavender Farms for introducing me to their CBD products which are helping so much. I highly recommend you give them a tryI had wanted to give CBD a try, so it was perfect timing. Having three autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation CBD is my new solution and it gives better results. I'm also impressed with the reduced anxiety and depression. I'll continue with my supplements and add CBD. They also offer CBD for dogs which I want my senior Maltese, Leo to give a try. The pet version doesn't have the lavender essential oils added to it. If you are ever near Grand Junction, Colorado be sure to stop in and check out their store located at 545 North Avenue, Grand Junction, CO 81501.

Note that these statements are my honest opinion based on my personal experience and my personal recommendations based on what has worked for me. Be sure to contact your doctor for professional medical advice. Have you or someone you know tried CBD? I'd love to hear about your experience. Update - I will be reviewing the Full Spectrum Unflavored CBD for Pets soon, stay tuned. My Maltese, Leo will be giving it a try.
