Check out what I received in my December Play by Sephora Box. This box only costs $10 per month including shipping and this month's approximate retail value is $54.81. Included in this month's box were the following products:
- Clinique - Moisture Surge, made in the USA, .24 fl. oz., $5.50 retail value
- DPHUE - Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse, 1 fl. oz., $4.11 retail value
- Touch in Sol - Metallist Liquid Foil & Glitter Eye Shadow Duo in the color Titiana, $12.50 approximate retail value
- TrèStique - Primer + Color Lip Glaze in Paris Pink, made in Italy, .025 oz., $15.62 retail value
- Tarte - Lights, Camera, Lashes 4 in 1 Mascara, made in Italy assembled in Taiwan, .10 fl. oz., $9.58 retail value
- Urban Decay - Quick Fix Hydra Charged Complexion Prep Priming Spray, .5 fl. oz., made in the USA, $7.50 retail value
I haven't been a fan of Clinique products lately, I don't find them very moisturizing compared to the competition. This one has a gel formulation that goes on quickly but doesn't sink in as quickly as those that are similar. I do not like it's scent, it's an alcohol, chemically smell. It leaves a film of smoothness like a primer. The Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse doesn't smell very good. If you have ever smelled apple cider vinegar before you'll know what I'm talking about. This one has some lavender added to it, but the vinegar smell can't be covered up. Some people really love this product, I'll give it a try but I'm skeptical. The eyeshadow duo is very messy especially the dry eyeshadow, so be careful. It's very glittery and metallic so it would be best for a party certainly not for wearing to work. The Lip Glaze feels moisturizing but looking at the ingredients it appears it's the wax that is making it feel that way. There aren't any healthy moisturizing ingredients though it says it's paraben free. It's not a product I would purchase, I'm just not impressed. I've had a sample of Tarte's Mascara before and I'm not a fan. I've also had one of their mascara containers break off at the top making it useless. To me it makes your lashes look like spider legs and it flakes off making a mess on your face. If you wear it, check the mirror often for flaking, it looks awful. It does make your lashes look longer. I'm not a fan of primers that you spray on. I have sensitive eyes and I find it doesn't go on evenly. This one smells like coconut since it has coconut water in it, it's very pleasant. I'll give it a try though I find these are better in the warmer months since it has a cooling effect.
I guess if I had to pick a favorite item from this box I'd pick the Lip Glaze, but even it isn't a winter or fall color, so that's disappointing. Maybe the eyeshadow instead though I know it will have a lot of fallout. My least favorite product is the Apple Vinegar Rinse and I also hate the mascara. What was your favorite product this month if you subscribe? I think I'm going to take a break from this subscription, I haven't been loving it lately. Macy's Beauty Box is my current favorite along with Suzanne Somers.

Oh yikes. I'm with you on this one, although mine hasn't arrived yet. Is there any way those shadows might work on your lips? I'm going to give that a try. Sparkly lips, yes, sparkly eyes, not so much. I think I got this spray primer in another box, I use it for wetting my eye shadows. Is the lip glaze as pink as it appears in the picture?
I don't think it's safe for the lips. It has a warning "Do not apply to damaged, inflamed or compromised skin." Metallic eyeshadow is known to be irritating, have to be careful with it. Try Ciaté Glitter Flip Transforming Glitter Liquid Lipstick instead. I received that one in my Ipsy bag for December. The lip glaze is a nude pink, very light like a balm.
