We visited Bonefish Grill around 11:30 am on a Monday during Hubby's stay vacation. It had been many years since we visited a Bonefish Grill together. We didn't care for the one in Raleigh, so we weren't in a rush to try another location. We decided to give this restaurant chain another chance since it was in the area we were going to be in that day. We were immediately greeted by a host and seated at a booth. The restaurant wasn't very full when we arrived, but during our visit, they had a steady stream of customers. They have a health score of 98.5% which is very good. They have several booths, lots of tables and a bar. Draped on the tables are thick white tablecloths covered by white paper. I'm not a fan of paper on the table unless they are serving crabs. I find it tacky especially for a higher priced restaurant. This restaurant isn't inexpensive even for lunch.
Our waiter came by shortly after we were seated and took our drink and appetizer order. We took a bit of time to decide what we wanted to order for our main course. He brought us some bread with our drinks. The bread was very tasty dipped in the olive oil and herbs. It tasted like a high-quality olive oil and the bread was nice and warm. About four minutes later he brought out the Bang Bang Shrimp Appetizer. The fried shrimp was wonderfully crispy even with the creamy, spicy sauce on top. The sauce tasted a bit too creamy for my sensitive stomach. It tasted like there were some tiny pieces of pickle in it perhaps? While it tasted delicious, I wouldn't order it again due to my stomach issues. Hubby absolutely loved it. Our main entrees came out twenty minutes later since we asked that our main entrees not be delivered too soon after our appetizer. We wanted a relaxing leisurely meal. The Fish & Chips were tasty, but they weren't beer battered which I prefer. The batter was a bit on the thick side and the tartar sauce wasn't great. The fries were ok, nothing special and well cooked yet not too greasy. I don't think I would order the Fish & Chips again. When Hubby's Crab Cakes arrived I thought they were very small, but after a taste, I realized since they were very rich it was a good thing they were small. If you have a sensitive stomach I wouldn't recommend ordering them. Hubby enjoyed them, but he plans to order something different next time. If you frequent this restaurant, what do you order the most? The waiter was very attentive and prompt and we enjoyed our dining experience. I recommend visiting this location since they seem to have better service than the Raleigh location. Since their prices are quite high it's not a restaurant I would frequent. What's your favorite restaurant for lunch in the Triangle?
