This is a review of our 3rd delivery from an organic food subscription box called Green ChefThey offer Vegetarian meals for $10.49 a serving, Omnivore for $11.99, Carnivore for $13.49, Gluten Free for $13.49, Vegan $11.99 and Paleo for $14.99. There are 9 recipes each week to chose from. I purchased the Carnivore which is two meat recipes and one seafood recipe. Shipping is available for arrival on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday via FedEx. Choice of meals for 2, 4 or 6 people. The recipe cards are printed in color on 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock. This week we gave two recipes five out of five stars and one recipe four stars. Calorie count ranged from 730 to 900 and cooking times ranged from 30 to 35 minutes. Sauces and dressings are made by Green Chef to save you time. Each recipe is color coded. Notice in the photos above Cumin Crusted Tuna had light green labels, Steak 'N Egg Flatbread had dark green labels and Grilled Lemon Chicken had purple labels. For shipping they use recycled cardboard, twelve ice packs and jute insulation. Not only are all ingredients USDA certified organic, but seafood is wild caught and beef is grass fed. Green Chef is currently my favorite food subscription box.

Cumin Crusted Tuna, Warm Poblano Salsa, Greens & Chimichurri Dressing

Wow, this was so scrumptious it made me feel like we were dining in a five star restaurant, ordering market price tuna (which I never do) and having a heart attack when the bill arrived! There was so much flavor in every bite. Needless to say we both gave this dish five out of five stars. This was our favorite dish this week. Look at the wonderful pink color of the yellowfin tuna steaks, shown above, now that's wild caught for sure. If you are ever in doubt about wild caught being healthier for you, just put farm raised right next to wild caught and look and the difference in color! I avoid farm raised seafood as much as possible. I had never had jicama before and it was delicious with the orange! They gave us so much food we had leftovers so that lowers the calorie count a bit. This one comes in at 730 calories and it took about thirty minutes to prepare. I can't stop thinking about this dish, it's so crave worthy! This is the second time we've ordered tuna from them and I highly recommend it, best tuna I've ever had! So tasty!

Steak 'N Egg Flatbread, Kale & Carrot Salad, Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette

Never had steak and egg pizza before, so I was anxious to try it. Wow, was it delicious! Grass fed steak is the best tasting steak. Don't believe me, buy some of each and do a blind taste test! It even smells more delicious when it's cooking. It's also more tender and healthier for you. While the photos look like maybe the steak was overcooked, it was not. Inside it was a bit pink, perfectly cooked, moist, tender and so very delicious. The yolk started running out as soon as cut into it and I dipped pieces of steak into it for superb flavor:

We gave the pizza five out of five stars and the side salad three stars. We didn't care for the dressing, but that's because we're not a fan of the flavor of sun dried tomato vinaigrette. We would have preferred a different dressing. There was so much salad, we had leftovers so that lowers the calorie count a bit. This one had 770 calories and it took about thirty-five minutes to prepare. I'm not usually into non traditional pizzas, but this one was excellent and crave worthy! This was our second favorite dish for the week.

Grilled Lemon Chicken, Green Bean & Pesto Pasta Salad & Grilled Squash

Hubby gave this one five out of five stars and I gave it four stars. I'm not really fond of cold pasta salad, but Hubby loves it. I would have liked a bit more of the basil vinaigrette, it was so delicious on top of the chicken. I love how they marinated the chicken for us, so it was super tender and tasty plus it saved us some prep time. Note in the above photo the squash and zucchini were huge. There was also a lot of pasta salad, so we had pasta salad leftovers. There was no way we could have eaten all of it. There was enough pasta salad leftover for a large lunch. Leftovers lower the calorie count a bit. This one is the highest calorie recipe we have received so far coming in at 900 calories. It took about thirty-five minutes to prepare. Also, it was a very large portion of chicken unlike the competition.

Every box we have received from Green Chef has been received in excellent condition with no issues with quality, missing ingredients or damage during shipping. This makes me really happy because I really dislike sending complaint emails to companies and having to go to the store for missing or damaged ingredients. Also, all the recipes have been four or five stars, with none of them being disappointing. During the hot months, I've found that I can only rely on Green Chef to deliver my seafood cold since they use enough ice packs to keep it cold enough unlike their competition. This was yet another very enjoyable week of recipes and I can't wait for our next one. Each week the recipes look very appetizing. There hasn't been one week that I didn't want to order due to the recipes. Check out all of the recipes we have made so far on my Green Chef Pinterest Board along with the recipe cards.
