QVC's Tatcha TSV & Beauty IQ Steal Review - Ageless Renewal Skincare Ritual

Tatcha Ageless Renewal Four Piece Skincare Ritual

I noticed that today QVC is offering a previous Tatcha TSV (Today's Special Value) as a Beauty IQ Steal, so I thought I would review it for you to help you decide whether or not to order it. This was the TSV on June 23rd, 2018 for $135.00 available in 5 payments. That makes each piece only $33.75, bargain! Today it is up for sale under a different item number with no reviews. The website is not pulling up the old item number when it was a TSV, it just says sold out. I was hoping to see the reviews, so that's disappointing. QVC is offering it as a Beauty IQ Steal for $141.75 available in 5 payments which is only $6.75 more than the TSV price. The retail value of this set is a whopping $447.60! I'd never spend that much on these products! All of these cosmetics are made in Japan. Included in this set are the following products:
  1. Revitalizing Eye Cream, .38 oz., $102.60 retail value
  2. Enriching Renewal Cream, 1.86 fl. oz., $185.00 retail value
  3. The Essence, 5.1 fl. oz., $95.00 retail value
  4. Classic Rice Enzyme Powder, 2.1 oz., $65.00 retail value
  5. Goldtone spoon
I had purchased the Classic Rice Enzyme Powder in a small trial set a couple years ago and the Revitalizing Eye Cream in the Tatcha TSV in the summer of 2017. So let me review those two products first since I have the most experience with them. The Classic Rice Enzyme Powder is for cleansing your face with a bit of exfoliation. If you find scrubs are too harsh for your sensitive skin, this product is for you. It's very gentle and it takes off a bit of dry skin each day rather than a weekly product that may irritate your skin. So that's my favorite part of this product. My least favorite is that you have to mix it with water, so it's a bit fussy. I wash my face with one hand at the sink, so I wet my face and pour some into one hand and add a bit of water to that and mix with my fingers, then I apply it to my face, scrub and rinse. They suggest mixing it with water in your hands and rubbing your hands together prior to applying. Just a warning, if you don't use enough water, you will be breathing in the powder. It comes in a heavy glass container with a plastic lid. It has a small hole about the size of a pea with a sliding door to allow just enough product out. I shake out some 1-2 times. This classic version is for normal to dry skin. I find it leaves my dry skin too dry, it's not moisturizing. They also have a normal to oily, dry and sensitive version. In conclusion, I really like how it exfoliates a little each day gently, but I don't enjoy the messy application process or that it's not moisturizing. It's my least favorite product in this set so much so that I'm thinking of selling it since I'm still using last year's TSV jar. It lasts so long! On days I'm in a rush or can't be bothered I skip it and use Julep's Love Your Bare Face Hydrating Cleansing Oil instead.* It's my favorite face cleanser. It's easy, quick and it leaves my face hydrated.

The Revitalizing Eye Cream is my favorite product in this set. I stopped using it after almost a year of use for a couple of months due to trying to save time. One day while looking in the mirror at the wrinkles around my eyes I was shocked at how many wrinkles reappeared. I had no memory of there being so many! So I immediately started making time to apply it again and they went away again thankfully. I highly recommend this product! It's my favorite eye cream! My other favorite is Wei East's China Herbal Eyes Alive Cream. Those two products actually work! This year's container is only .38 oz., so it's not going to last as long as the previous TSV. The .5 oz version lasted about nine months. Out of five, five being the thickest this one has a consistency of three. It comes in a heavy glass container with a purple plastic lid.

Now on the most interesting product, The Essence. I had not tried this product before and was very curious about it. On air, it looked like the consistency of water, but it's a wee bit thicker than that. Close your eyes before applying, since it is an irritant to the eyes. At first, it leaves a bit of stickiness, but it goes away after you let it sink in and as long as you don't use too much. Thankfully, the silicone spout only lets out a couple drops when you turn it over. I've used about 1/4 of the contents in the past two months. This product comes in a heavy thick plastic container. It's described as "a concentration of pur micro-nutrients, softens and plumps skin with deep hydration while maximizing the performance the Tacha skincare ritual". I believe it does plump the skin and it's definately hydrating.

The Enriching Renewal Cream feels really good on the skin and it gives a good amount of hydration. It's more on the thin side so it's easy and quick to apply. Out of five, five being the thickest, this one has a consistency of a two.  The goldtone spoon is to help you lift out of the jar just the right amount since you need so little. On this person half a century old, it has improved my smile lines considerably and forehead lines a bit though I don't have many, but it hasn't helped my frown lines or squinting lines which are what bother me the most. Anyone have a product suggestion for those wrinkles? It has lifted a bit near the jawline.

After applying all four products, I recommend waiting a bit prior to the application of makeup since it needs some time to sink in. I also recommend using the least amount you can because it will be too sticky to apply makeup over. I highly recommend the eye cream, that's my favorite product. This set is an affordable way to try such an expensive brand. The eye cream alone almost pays for this set and the Enriching Renewal Cream costs more than this set! This set is available on auto delivery every three months, it lasts much longer than that! The Essence looks like it will last eight months, the eye cream probably six months at least, the renewal cream probably five months and the enzyme powder nine months or more. I can't see anyone going through it in only three months unless you are sharing with another person or simply using too much. Since Tatcha has only one TSV a year featuring this large set, if you missed out last June, I'd recommend snagging it now since you may have to wait till next summer to see a similar one at this bargain price.

Don't forget to check out my review of Julep's Today's Special Value airing today. They sent it to me early, so I could review it for you.

I tried Tatcha during their last TSV, and after it ended I stopped and tried other products. I can honestly say, that I ended up buying the products at full price after a few cycles of trying other products, NOTHING compared! Their oil and rice enzyme powder are the only thing that makes my skin feel clean. I adore these products and agree they are worth a try at this price!
