This is a review of our 20th delivery from a weekly food subscription service called Hello Fresh. This week we gave one recipe five out of five stars, one recipe four stars and one recipe three stars. The calories ranged from 740 to 830. Preparation time indicated on the recipe cards ranges from 25 to 55 minutes. Actual preparation time ranged from 30 to 60 minutes. Our favorite recipe this week was the Maple & Rosemary Glazed Pork Cutlets.

Cranberry Drizzled Duck with Watercress Salad & Mashed Potatoes

We gave this recipe four out of five stars. The duck breast with the cranberry sauce was scrumptious. The sauce was made with duck fat, shallot, thyme, demi-glace, cranberry jam, water, lemon juice and pepper. Just thinking about it is making me hungry, so yummy. Anytime they offer duck I order it since it's of high quality and delicious. The one thing I'd change for this recipe to make it five stars would be to add a spring mix to the watercress, it was a bit to earthy for me all by itself. The mashed potatoes were very tasty and they were made with Yukon Gold Potatoes, milk, garlic, butter, salt and pepper. This one was a healthy portion and it had 740 calories. It took around one hour to prepare while the recipe card states 55 minutes to prepare.

Maple & Rosemary Glazed Pork Cutlets with Couscous & a Creamy Apple Salad

We gave this recipe five out five stars, it was absolutely scrumptious and certainly crave worthy! The sauce made with fresh rosemary, white wine vinegar, maple syrup from Vermont, stock concentrate, water, butter, salt and pepper was incredibly tasty. The salad was made with spring mix, Heinz Mayo, white wine vinegar, apple, scallions, salt and pepper. It was yummy and they gave us a coupon worth up to $4.50 for a bottle of the new creamy Heinz Mayonnaise which was a lovely surprise. This one has 740 calories and it was a generous portion with plenty of salad. Not all of the salad could fit on the plate, so the photo above shows less than half. The couscous had scallion whites and fresh rosemary added to it which made for a lovely flavor. It took only 30 minutes to prepare and the recipe card stated 25 minutes.

Honey Sriracha Chicken Legs with Basmati Rice & Green Beans

We gave this recipe three out of five stars. The glaze was the main issue, it didn't mix well and it burned a bit when it was baked on the chicken leg. The glaze was made with scallion whites, soy sauce, honey, sriracha and sesame oil. While it was tasty, it could be improved on for sure. I also think the cooking process was overly complicated having to cook it in the skillet and then bake it and the cooking time seemed a bit too long. The green beans and rice were delicious. It was a healthy portion and it had 830 calories which seems a bit high for what it was. Preparation time was one hour and the recipe card states 55 minutes.

It was a very enjoyable week of recipes and we look forward to our next shipment which will be shipped next week. We ordered the following recipes:  Honey Glazed Pork Tenderloin, Greek Dinner Burgers and New York Strip Steak with Truffle Butter.
