Josie Maran Four Piece Holiday Spa Set Review - QVC's Black Friday Sale

Josie Maran Four Piece Face & Body Whipped Argan Holiday Spa Set

I wasn't a fan of Josie's TSV this month so I searched for something else as an alternative. This time of the year she offers several sets at a price similar to a TSV, so this is a good time to stock up. I decided on this four-piece set because I love her Face Butter and I'm almost done with my last jar plus I've been wanting to try her Mud Mask since it came out. Also, I can always use another jar of her Body Butter which I also love. This set currently costs $62.00 or 6 payments of $10.33 plus $3 shipping. I purchased it on a free shipping day so I saved $3. Its retail value is $145.00! Its item number is A345617. Included in this set are the following Josie Maran products:
  1. Color Stick in Optimism, QVC exclusive until January 2019, $22.00 retail value
  2. Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter unscented, 1.7 fl. oz., $40.00 retail value
  3. Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Sweet Citrus, 8 fl. oz., $35.00 retail value
  4. Whipped Mud Mask Argan Hydrating & Detoxifying Treatment in Sweet Citrus, 1.7 fl. oz., $48.00 retail value
All of her products are made in the USA. Immediately upon its arrival I applied the mud mask to my face and waited about an hour to wash it off. It says to leave it on for about 10 minutes, but I always find that they indicate the smallest amount of time so you'll buy it. I prefer to get as much benefit as I can from a mask so I leave it on till it's uncomfortable and/or completely dry. I washed it off with a warm, wet paper towel since I'm not a fan of having to launder a washcloth that has a musk mask on it. It would be easier to wash off in the shower if you use it just prior. I was amazed by the results. I can't believe how moisturized and soft my skin was after just one use. I'm in love with this product, it is amazing! I highly recommend you try this product soon especially if you have dry skin like mine. I applied it to my husband's face and he had the same results. I applied it a 2nd time a few days later and the results were the same. It moisturizes my skin so much that I don't even have to apply a moisturizer after I use it and it felt the same when I woke up the next day. I've never had results like this from a face mask before and it's perfect for this time of the year when as soon as the heat is turned on in the house my skin gets even dryer and it becomes a battle to keep it moisturized. It smells like the body butter mixed with the scent of mud. It's a pleasant scent.

The Sweet Citrus Body Butter smells like tangerine oranges to me. That scent you smell as you peel a tangerine. It's very nice, but I consider it a summer scent. I would have preferred a fall or winter scent for this time of the year. Her body butter is the only body moisturizer I use on my skin, it's my favorite and I highly recommend it. While it's a bit on the oily side it moisturizes so well and it takes very little so an 8 fl. oz. jar lasts quite a long time. It's oily, but not slippery once it sinks in. I wouldn't be worried about picking up a dish or a glass once it sinks in. It feels so good on the skin. The scent is temporary, I mostly smell it while applying it, but not much after that. I haven't disliked any of her scents, but I do have several favorites. Unfortunately, my favorites are seasonal and she doesn't tend to repeat them.

I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th jar of her Face Butter, I've lost count. The first TSV that included it was my 1st time trying it. It's the face moisturizer that I grab as soon as we switch from air conditioning to heat. It's quick and easy to apply and it's moisturizing enough for my dry skin that becomes challenging to keep moisturized in the fall and winter. It comes in a glass jar which I prefer over plastic. I forgot to mention that the mud mask also comes in a glass jar. I think her Face Butter may be a bit too oily for those with combination or oily skin. It would be best suited for dry or normal skin. It doesn't leave the skin too oily or shiny, so applying foundation shortly after isn't an issue. This is another of her products that I recommend for dry skin.

I haven't tried the color stick since I think it's too brown for my skin tone and I'm not a fan of this product. It's too wide to apply precisely to the lips and I'm not a fan of cream blush. I find I can never get the cream blush to blend on my skin well enough so it looks good and I don't have the patience to mess with it.

The other bargains she is currently offering are the Josie Maran Argan Milk Serum Duo, the Set of Three Whipped Argan Body Butters, Face Butter, Mud Mask & Milk Set, Five Piece Smooth & Hydrate Holiday Kit, Oil Luxury Body Cleansing & Treatment Kit, Argan Body & Skincare Set, Argan Body Butter & Color Stick Travel Set and the Four Piece Hand Cream Kit which I reviewed already. The Face Butter, Mud Mask & Milk Set also includes the Face Butter & the Mud Mask. It includes the Argan Milk Treatment instead of the Body Butter and the Color Stick and it's $9.86 more. I had a hard time deciding between the two sets. I also recommend the Argan Milk Treatment. It's wonderfully moisturizing, really helps reduce fine lines and it sinks into the skin quicker than any of her other moisturizers. My only issue is that it's only 1 ounce yet it's a bottle that looks much larger.  Well maybe not one issue, I just remembered I also find the dropper has issues. It doesn't pick up the product very well, so I have to tap the product out on to my hand most of the time. Also, it's difficult to determine when you are almost out since you can't see through the bottle.

For those of you wondering if these products are sealed: the Mud Mask has a silver foil seal on top but it wasn't glued on, the Body Butter did not have a seal, the Face Butter had a white plastic lid laying on top, and the Color Stick has a clear plastic lid on top under the regular lid. The Body Butter had a huge air bubble in it so much so that I gasped when I opened the jar. Also, a lot of the product was stuck to the lid. That's the first time that has happened. Usually, it just has a small air bubble. I tapped the jar on a table until the air bubble was gone and then I moved the product on the lid into the jar and then it was full.  What's your favorite Josie Maran product? If you haven't tried her line yet, what is keeping you from giving it a try?

The one thing I was interested in reading about was the color stick! LOL! I've got a tub of her body butter here which probably will last the rest of my life. I got a sample of the face butter in a subscription kit and liked it a lot. I have dry skin and it seemed to be very moisturizing. I've got a couple bottles of the argan oil proper, and that too is probably a lifetime supply. A little of this stuff seems to go a long way. I watch those presentations on QVC and they all end with everyone looking like could slide down a slip and slide with no water. I've tried her mascara, it was flaky, tried the foundation, it was just odd on my skin. I keep trying though!

Yeah, not a fan, I think that's the only product that I haven't liked. Oh, now that you mention it yes there is another one I didn't like, her TSV foundation. I liked it in the beginning, but then it wasn't looking right after several months of use. Maybe it doesn't have a long shelf life, I don't know, it was odd. Lucky you getting a sample of her face butter. Yes, it's very good in the fall and winter. I find it a bit too heavy for the summer. Yes, the argan oil lasts such a long time, wish she would stop offering it in so many TSVs. Yes, it's funny how much of the oil she applies to herself. You would think she would take a break and wash it off and start over. I guess she doesn't since it sells like hotcakes. I tried her mascara, but I honestly can't remember if I liked it. Lately, I don't like most mascara. Buxom is the only one I'm using right now. My eyes are so sensitive and most seem to flake. Thanks for your reviews, Mary Anne. :)

Thank you for this review! I was debating whether or not to wait for anymore sets to purchase but I might just go ahead and buy this set. I also noticed item # A344378 which is a set of 6 body butters (all NEW festive scents!) It seems really intriguing to me but I was hoping for a sale price or featured price...it's QVC price of $59.96 right now so maybe I'll wait and see if it changes? Decisions, decisions lol.

I love the mud masque too. They have a 2 for 1 deal on QVC at the moment. Here is the item # A298688 :) Sharon OMG...4 ozers of the body butter, Jenna. LOVE

yw, Jenna :) In May they offer the 5 of the 8 oz as a TSV for $69.96, $13.99 each. In December they usually offer 8 of the 4 oz for $69.96, $8.74 each. So the current offer is $59.96, $9.99 each for 4 oz, so that's not a deal. Only 2 of the scents are fall/winter. In general if it says "QVC Price" it's not a deal. Their current 8 of 4 oz deal is $73.46 which is $9.19 each which is 44 cents a jar more than previous years. So it depends if you want to pay more for those 2 scents. The new & exclusive scents sound good and they are cheaper. That set also comes in a hard cardboard box that can be reused. Josie's products will be back on air on the 4th, 5th & 8th, will she bring more deals, maybe. Will that set go on sale, maybe. I guess you could buy it and see if they give you the difference back if it goes on sale or just wait or buy a different set. If it were me, I'd buy the set of 8.

Thanks for your review, Sharon. :) That's $29.00 each, too pricey for me, I prefer around $20. I'd prefer the other set A344554 with the mask for $13.86 more you get the milk and face butter. I'm so tempted to buy that set also. Such a good deal. Or the set I reviewed for $4 more. Have you gone through a jar of her mask yet? How many uses did you get?

Yes...that set with the face butter and milk is a good deal. I use the mask 1 time a week and tend to "spot treat" where I need it. Like on the nose. I'm almost done with 2 jars since Josie introduced them. So it rounds out to about a jar a year. I also purchased a set of 5 minis she has at Sephora so I could try all the scents and use for travel. In conclusion: It seems to last longer then it looks like it would! Sharon

Lucky you, I saw that kit. So tell us which one of the 5 you like the best!?

My favorites at the moment are lavender citrus (so good as you're getting ready for bed) and the apricot. Hmmmm...maybe I'll go put some on right now...

I caved and bought the set! (A344378) I saw Josie presenting it with Alberti earlier tonight and all the different scents seem divine and I love that each jar comes sealed and in a gift box! I swear I'm just addicted to her products especially the body butters. I took advantage of the 6 easy pays and free shipping but still my wallet is burning this month! I need to stop tuning in to QVC too much, perhaps a new year resolution for next year...or not LOL.
