The Gardens of Crover House
Traveling with your dog, or in our case two dogs, can be a challenge especially when traveling internationally. After two uncomfortable, disappointing stays at Airbnbs in Ireland we were relieved to find the Crover House Hotel. It was our favorite hotel during our 1 1/2 months of traveling in Ireland and France. We saw several dogs while staying there. Hubby, myself and our two dogs really enjoyed the gardens and lake view. It was so quiet and peaceful.

Their customer service was excellent. Room service even made diet accommodations for our dogs who eat mostly chicken and vegetables. Staff also gave us an upgrade after staying a couple of days. Their internet though wasn't great. It was often slow and other times it didn't work at all. We used our American cell phones for connection when necessary. Keep in mind though they are in the countryside and we didn't find good internet anywhere but Dublin. More about that in upcoming blogs.
The Crover House Hotel is a two story, four star hotel built in the 18th century which has been modernized and also offers a golf course and restaurant. It's also popular for wedding receptions due to it's beautiful setting on a lake called Lough Sheelin. It's a 1 1/2 hour drive NW of Dublin according to GPS. That is if you drive the speed limit which we found impossible to do safely. Due to the bad Irish roads I'd allow 3 hours travel time. They are not only narrow roads but also very bumpy.
