This is a review of the Julia TV Show on HBO Max. I invite you to click on the play button below to watch the first episode of Julia for free. This show is an absolute delight! If you watched episodes of The French Chef featuring Julia Child on PBS, this new show is a must. If you aren't familiar with Julia, you must enter her world and enjoy the experience. She is like no other, a true superstar! Even if you aren't a good cook or cooking doesn't interest you, you'll enjoy spending time with her. Odds are you'll find yourself in the kitchen with a bag of ingredients and will be wearing an apron. You'll be inspired to tackle one of her recipes. She is so entertaining, that alone is a reason to watch. It's a relaxing and peaceful show that lets you temporarily escape your world. The new one gives a similar experience. Are you a newbie to Julia Child's shows or a long-time fan? Comment below!
You can watch the original PBS episodes on the Pluto TV app for free! You can also find some episodes on YouTube. Her shows originally ran from 1963 to 1973. My favorite phrases she used are "whack it with your whacker" and "Julia Child presents the chicken sisters". She's so funny! A true gem! In the 70s my family only had four channels on the TV. My parents had it tuned to PBS most of the time. Julia Child's show was one of my favorites along with Mr. Rogers and Bob Ross. Which ones were your favorites?
HBO's version has lived up to its potential. It's a tricky task since Julia is so loved by her fans and due to her unique style. Sarah Lancashire plays Julia and Bebe Neuwirth plays her best friend. Sarah does a terrific job capturing Julia's enthusiasm, kindness, calmness, mannerisms, and encouragement. David Hyde Pierce is the perfect actor to play her husband. He brings laughter to the difficult moments in her life. Bebe and David played a very entertaining couple on the TV show Frasier. It's a joy to see them acting together again. Occasionally, we see the talented actress Isabella Rossellini. What a sweet surprise. I look forward to each episode with so much excitement. Six episodes await you and be sure to tune in Thursdays for the last two. Dive into some absolutely fabulous entertainment tonight! You won't be disappointed! I give it five stars! Bravo HBO!
Have a PEACEful Day,
Wendy
