This movie is labeled as action, comedy, and adventure. The trailer made me think it would have more laughs than it did. I'm not a superhero movie fan so I was going to see the movie for the laughs. Take a look at the trailer:
The action started right away and continued to the end. It starts with the evil character, I would have preferred if it started with the main characters shown in the trailer. It was too long of a wait to see them. My favorite scenes were with Jack playing Freddy and Zachary as Shazam. Zachary could have done a better job at acting like a fourteen-year-old. Jack did an excellent job, he was very entertaining so I hope to see him in more movies soon. The story has a few heartwarming scenes and several heartbreaking scenes. It's rated PG-13 and it's two hours and twelve minutes long. There are monsters that may be too scary for children under the age of 9. I didn't enjoy those scenes, the monsters are so fake looking and quite frankly gross. The audience was filled with children around 10 to seniors, so it's appealing to most ages. I found the movie to be slow at times, they could have easily cut some of the monster scenes shorter. While I enjoyed it, for the most part, I wouldn't watch it again. It is available in 3D which may make it more enjoyable. If you are a comic book fan then make your way to the theatre, otherwise, wait until it comes out on demand and on DVD.
