Macy's Beauty Box - February 2019

Red Carpet Glam

This is a review of the February Macy's Beauty Box which costs $15 including shipping. Everyone is sent the same products. The retail value of this month's box is $60.52 not including the $5 coupon nor the cosmetic bag. In this month's box were the following products:

  2. Clinique - High Impact Mascara, made in Canada, .14 oz., $9.50 retail value
  3. Anastasia Beverly Hills - Liquid Lipstick in American Doll, made in the USA, .11 oz. full size, $20.00 retail value
  4. BeautyBlender - Micro Mini$9.00 retail value
  5. Origins - Original Skin Retexturizing Mask, made in the USA, 1 fl. oz., $10.40 retail value
  6. Yves Saint Laurent - Black Orchid Eau de Parfum Spray, made in France, .04 fl. oz., $1.65 retail value

I have received the DermaBlend Setting Powder several times from different subscription boxes. I tried it a long time ago but I wasn't really impressed. I use Guerlain's Meteorites, Bare Essentials Mineral Veil and Julep's Finishing Powder. * Lately every mascara I try flakes quickly. What mascara do you recommend that doesn't flake? I am pretty sure I've tried the Clinique Mascara before, but I can't remember if I like it so I'll try it again. I love that they sent a full sized product, but I don't like how bright red lipstick looks on me so it will go in my Blog Sale box to be sold later. There is no point in trying it, I know I'll hate it on me. I've tried Origins masks before and I have purchased them in gift sets at a bargain price. I highly recommend buying full sized products in sets to save money. It's a pretty good mask, but lately, I've been into sheet masks instead. I'm not crazy about the Black Orchid Perfume. Its notes are green coffee, jasmine tea, patchouli, and pear. I have no use for the Breast Petals since I don't go out without a bra. I know it's a freebie, but I really wish they would stick to sending cosmetics. I've tried BeautyBlenders in both sizes and I'm not a fan since you have to fuss with it adding water, squeezing the excess water out, etc. Trying to get the right amount of dampness and due to how long it takes to apply, I just skip it. It does a good job though if you are willing to fuss and make time for application. I'm not a fan of the cosmetic bag since mine is misshapen, the lips are uneven and I prefer the opening to be at the top. Last month's bag was so cute, much nicer.

My favorite item this month is the Origins mask. My least favorite is the lipstick only due to its color since it's a great brand. While the retail value on the box is high, I preferred last month's box. I'll only be using two of the seven products sent. I'm also disappointed that they no longer have free shipping to use the coupon. I'd have to spend $49 to receive free shipping. Of course, I could order online and pick it up in the store, but I don't shop at malls anymore. If you received this month's box, what's your favorite product? If you haven't, what's your favorite cosmetic subscription box?
