We visited Wasabi on a rainy Saturday around 3 pm. They are located in the MacGregor Village Shopping Center at the corner of US 1 and US 64. The shopping center has been renovated, so it's looking better now. They have a buy one get one deal on their sushi rolls so I thought we should give them a try. Also, they are one of the few Asian restaurants that doesn't close between lunch and dinner which tends to be the time we like to eat on weekends. They are open from 11:30 am to 10 pm Monday through Thursday and are open half an hour later on Friday. Saturday they are open from 11:30 am until 10:30 pm. Sunday they open at 4:30 pm and close at 9:30 pm. Their health score is currently 98 which is good, but they were having issues prior to that and received a score of only 90. I won't eat at a restaurant if they aren't 92 or higher especially if I'm going for sushi. We were immediately greeted and seated at a booth. It was quite busy, but since they have two large dining areas there is plenty of seating.

Amazing Roll & North Carolina Roll

We had to wait quite a while before the waitress showed up. We both ordered an Amazing Roll which costs $12.00 and has only 5 pieces, shown above and below. It's described as "inside-out tuna, salmon, white fish, and cream cheese deep fried katsu style with eel sauce and spicy mayo". It's a fried roll which we weren't crazy about, the batter wasn't up to our standards and the cream cheese didn't taste great. Hubby also ordered the North Carolina Roll which is described as "spicy tuna, tempura flake topped with avocado & sriracha sauce". It costs $11.00 and has eight pieces, shown above. He recommends that roll.

Amazing Roll

I ordered the Victoria Secret Roll which is described as "salmon, yellowtail, tuna, avocado, topped with eel". It costs $12.00 and has only 6 pieces, shown below. I loved it, but it isn't very filling. Hubby had a piece and he agreed it's awesome. It's perfect for someone on a low carb diet. We also ordered Miso Soup which we didn't care for and Hot Tea. I can't recommend either. The tea was so weak and it had a strange flavor, don't order it.

Victoria Secret Roll

While the buy one get one deal sounds great, remember that it is limited to only some of the rolls. Also, many of the rolls have less than eight pieces so you'll need to order more than you normally do or you'll still be hungry. If you normally order two rolls I'd recommend ordering at least three. Check out their menu.
