This is a review of our 29th delivery from a weekly subscription box called Hello Fresh. This week we gave two recipes four out of five stars and one recipe three stars. Calories range from 550 to 800 and preparation time stated on the recipe cards range from 35 to 60 minutes. Actual preparation time ranged from 45 to 50 minutes.

Autumn Spiced Pork Chops with Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Honey Butter Sweet Potatoes

We gave this recipe four out of five stars. This is the perfect festive Thanksgiving, fall or Christmas dinner without the stress of leftovers and it only took 50 minutes to prepare. Hubby skipped the sweet potato since he's on a low carb diet. Adding honey butter to it was surprisingly delicious. A dash of cinnamon would have been a nice addition. The pork chops were scrumptious though we prefer bone-in pork chops since they tend to have more flavor that way. The brussels sprouts would have been even tastier with a bit of maple syrup added. The sauce made with stock concentrate, cranberries, water, butter, and pork juices was scrumptiously delicious. With a few tweaks, it would be a five-star meal. It was a filling portion coming in at 800 calories.

Sweet as Honey Chicken with Green Beans over Jasmine Rice

We gave this recipe four out of five stars. It's a lower calorie version of Asian take-out food substituting the heavy glaze for freshly chopped ginger, honey and soy sauce. It was awesomely tasty! I couldn't even tell it was low calorie, this one comes in at only 550 calories. Lime juice was added to the green beans which were surprisingly delicious and they were very fresh, crisp and juicy. Jasmine rice is my favorite type of rice, so I'm always happy when that's their selection. The recipe card states 30 minutes to prepare while it took Hubby 50 minutes. It was a filling portion. This recipe is being offered again January 19th-25th, so be sure to order it!

We gave this recipe three out of five stars. The sour cream and cream cheese were a wonderful addition to the mashed potatoes. We didn't care for the Italian Seasoning nor the sauce. The roasted zucchini was tasty with just the addition of lemon zest, olive oil, salt, and pepper. It was a filing portion coming in at only 670 calories. The recipe card states 60 minutes preparation time while it took only 45 minutes to prepare.

It was another scrumptious week of recipes from Hello Fresh. Today we are expecting Cherry Ancho Duck Breasts, Amazing Apricot Chicken and Shake It Up  Pork Chops to arrive. Whenever they offer duck breasts I place an order since they offer the best we have ever tasted not to mention they are hard to find in our area. They will be offered again January 19th-25th, so be sure to place an order that week! They just started offering a side of garlic bread each week for $3.99.
