Poke Bar Part I - Proteins & Mix-ins

Poke Bar Part II - Toppings

This is a review of a new Asian restaurant located in Morrisville, North Carolina called Hi Poke. They have been open for one month and their hours are everyday from 11 am until 9 pm. They are located across from Target at Park West in the Park Place Shopping Center near the intersection of Chapel Hill Road & NW Cary Parkway. They are on the right side of Food Lion. We visited on a Sunday around 1:30 pm. They had a few other customers, so this is a nice quiet time to visit.

Hubby & I were immediately greeted by a young Asian lady and handed a menu and then directed to the ordering area. We were both able to start our orders at the same time since they had plenty of staff. We both chose a build your own deluxe poke bowl with mixed greens, two scoops of salmon and one scoop of tuna. It costs $12.99 and includes three proteins and unlimited toppings. You can also choose from a classic bowl for $10.99 which includes two scoops of protein and five toppings. If you can't decide, you can choose from five bowls that they have created for $10.99 to $12.99. There is also a kids' meal. For my mix-ins I chose cucumber, cilantro, jalapeño, scallions and red onion. For my dressing, I chose eel sauce. She mixed my proteins and toppings in the dressing and then added it to my mixed greens. For my toppings I chose tomato, carrots, cucumber, masago and shredded nori. Take a peek at my selections:

Hubby chose the same except he skipped the tomato & carrot and added crab salad. He chose the spicy mayo dressing. Take a peek:

We both really enjoyed our poke bowls, but Hubby would skip the crab salad next time since it was too sweet. All of the vegetables were fresh and crisp and the fish was scrumptious. Check out the menu for further details. Drinks are limited to Hawaii Sun, coconut water, Pure Leaf Sweet Tea, Bai, water, La Sparkling water and cucumber water. They also offer complimentary lemon water. I ordered the cucumber water which was refreshing and tasty:

Plus, I snagged a free keychain as shown above. They serve the poke bowl in biodegradable paper bowls and offer wood chopsticks, soy sauce and plastic forks. There are several tables and some bar seating at the front. If it's the lunch or dinner rush prepare to carry out. If I lived closer by, I would frequent it for carry out!

I highly recommend you give this new restaurant a try for your next lunch. It was a very delicious and healthy meal. The staff was prompt, quick, attentive and very friendly and more than happy to answer any questions. We were asked twice while dining if everything was ok. I asked for some extra eel sauce. She was very happy to deliver and when we left she thanked us for our business which I really appreciate. What's your favorite Asian restaurant in the Triangle?
