I noticed recently that Directv is finally offering the Home Shopping Network in high definition! I stopped watching it about six years ago because without HD it would really bother my eyes and I don't watch shopping channels online. It's on channel 240. One would think they would email me and let me know, but no, I found out by accident tuning to that channel. Anyone know how long it's been in HD? Well anyway, now that it's in HD I'll be watching it again so I thought I'd type out an organized Today's Special list to keep my eye on any Today's Specials that may be worth purchasing. HSN offers an occasional presale, so keep an eye on the list as I'll be updating it as soon as they post new ones.
Over the last six years, I was only purchasing Andrew Lessman Vitamins and Royal Treatment Shampoo & Conditioner for our dogs plus an occasional Joy Mangano item. I use to purchase Slinky Clothing, Perlier Beauty, Maggie Sweet Clothing, Suzanne Somers Jewelry, Wei East Beauty, Jeffrey Banks, Real Collectibles by Adrienne Jewelry, Carolyn Strauss Clothing, Connie Stevens Beauty, Signature Club A, and Victoria Weick Jewelry. Connie Stevens still sells her beauty products on her website and Victoria Weick is on Evine now. Suzanne Somers was supposed to be bringing her line to QVC, but it's only on her website currently. Maggie Sweet & Carolyn Strauss Clothing (aka CSC) are both out of business and some old pieces are for sale on eBay. Which brands do you miss and which ones are your current favorites? I'd like to try the Beekman line. Any reviews?

I got the Beekman hand soap and didnt care for it. It smelled good but wasnt moisturizing at all. Its also way too expensive! On sale it was 10 dollars a bottle. It was comparable to Bath and Body works but at double or triple the price. They seem like nice guys it is just way too overpriced.
What a bummer, don't they advertise that they are moisturizing due to the goat milk? Yeah, they are pricey, that's why I haven't tried 'em yet. I'd put them on your favorite list and see if they go on clearance. HSN has some good clearance prices. I believe their prices were higher when they were on Evine.
That was a very tempting TSV set! I would have given in too if I didn't have so much Josie Maran lotion right now. Let us know what you think of the scent. The only one of their scents I don't care for is peony.
Yeah, I'm not an Evine shopper either, so pricey. Put some tempting Perlier on your favorites list and wait for it to go on clearance, that's what I do. I wish they would bring back the A/D of their test scents. I love trying new scents. Andrew's vitamins are the best. Women's Wellness is a lifesaver along with his multivitamins. I only take capsules, tablets don't have good absorption. When I was purchasing their clothes years ago I received lots of compliments.
I just noticed you included HSN on your blog. I always enjoyed QVC, recently the movie reviews, and now I find more :) So fun. Can you tell me how HSN compares to QVC? I haven't shopped HSN (way behind :)
ty, glad you like it, Molly :) Wow, I'm always shocked when someone tells me they have never shopped at QVC or HSN. What's keeping you from ordering? They have different brands, sometimes brands move from one to the other, but now they are both owned by the same company so they have been changing a bit lately. HSN is located in FL, but they are laying off a bunch of employees and moving the jobs to PA. Make sure you use a first time customer coupon. HSN offers coupons unlike Q, so make sure you get on their email list or search for coupons prior to making a purchase. The most common one is 20% off. Also, HSN has really good prices on clearance merchandise, usually just a few months after they air. They use to offer a discount on s/h if you bought more than one item in the same dept, but since the merger they stopped that.
I miss Suzanne Somers jewelry and pjs. Her pajama parties with Colleen were so fun to watch even though they laughed most of the presentation. I also miss Liz Lange. Her dresses are so comfy.
I really like the Clean Machine AstroTurf doormats. I have purchased these both times when they have been a two pack Today's Special. They are large and have a nice weight so they don't move. They are virtually indestructible.
Don't remember Liz. Yes, those shows were a blast. SS was suppose to have jewelry on QVC soon, but I guess it didn't work out since she launched it on her website instead recently. It's not sterling anymore though and quite high prices for costume jewelry.
