QVC's WEN TSV Review - Four Piece Classic & Seasonal Kit

WEN Four Piece Classic & Seasonal Kit

This is a review of the Today's Special Value that aired on QVC September 1st, 2018. Chaz Dean offered the WEN Four Piece Classic & Seasonal Kit for $69.95 available in 5 payments of $13.99. That's works out to only $17.48 for each of the four pieces, bargain! This kit has a retail value of $197.50. It's currently available for $76.96 which is $7.01 more than the TSV price. Included in this collection are the following pieces:
  1. Cleansing Conditioner in a classic scent, 32 fl. oz., $49.50 retail value
  2. Treatment Oil in a classic scent, 4 fl. oz., $54.00 retail value
  3. Re-Moist Hydrating Mask in a classic scent., 4 fl. oz, $58.00 retail value
  4. Cleansing Conditioner in the new scent Fall Fresh Apple, 16 fl. oz., $36.00 retail value
The classic scent choices are Lavender (shown above), Cucumber Aloe, Fig, Sweet Almond, Tea Tree, and Pomegranate. I tried out the new scent, Fall Fresh Apple and it's now on my top three scents list! It smells like an apple pie made with red delicious apples rather than Granny Smith apples. It's a clean, comforting, yummy, calming scent that is wonderful! I highly recommend it.

I've been using WEN for many years now, I can't even remember how long now. Lavender is my go-to scent for the classic selection. I have tried Pomegranate and Sweet Almond in sample sizes, but Lavender is my favorite. Lavender is calming and it's not an artificial scent since he uses essential oils in all of his products. I have a really sensitive scalp and the WEN hair products don't irritate it. Most shampoos strip your hair of oils and then you have to use a conditioner to put it back in, it's damaging to the hair and harsh to the scalp. Plus I try to stay away from products with cancer-causing ingredients. WEN makes my long hair really soft so much so that I've had hairdressers comment on it. One was even feeling it up a bit too much for my comfort level. So funny! It has a bit of a learning curve in the beginning so I started using it as a conditioner until I learned how much to use and rinsed long enough. It takes more product than you would think and rinse time is longer at least for me since I have an oily scalp. I'm happy to report Fall Fresh Apple takes less rinsing time. I receive lots of shampoo samples via subscription boxes, but I stick with WEN. My favorite scents are Ginger Pumpkin, Winter Mint and now Lavender has been pushed to fourth place and Fall Fresh Apple is now in my top three. I haven't found a scent I haven't liked since he uses essential oils, so it never smells artificial. I have tried many of the seasonal scents over the years. I prefer them over the classic scents. His holiday TSV usually offer a set of seasonals, so stay tuned for that. I also love his styling creme which is on sale right now. It rarely goes on sale, so if that's one of your favorites, buy it now. I also recommend using a shower filter.

So far I have bought the Treatment Oil in Lavender in several TSVs and Winter Mint on its own because it is in my top three favorite scents. Winter Mint is very soothing to the scalp. I like to add several drops to a small spray bottle filled with filtered water. This is much like his Replenishing Treatment Mist, but less expensive. I love to spray my hair with it after I brush it any time of day to refresh it. Since I shower at night, every morning it refreshes my hair after sleeping and it's wonderful aromatherapy.

I don't find I really need the Hydrating Mask since the Cleansing Conditioner keeps my hair in great shape. It's a thicker version of the Cleansing Conditioner and it is aromatherapy. I recommend keeping it on as long as possible. He recommends 30-45 minutes.  I like to use it while I'm in the bath.

He also offers a Body Cleansing Creme and when it was offered at QVC years ago I gave it a try. I really like it, but since it's for a larger area of the body it becomes quite unaffordable. I really enjoyed it when it was offered in a TSV at a more affordable price. I wish he would bring it back in a TSV set with the Nourishing Body Lotion. He suggests that the Cleansing Conditioner can be used on the body, but again it's expensive. I've also tried his Pet Cleansing Conditioner, but I'm not a fan of having to mix it with water and trying to figure out how much I need each time. Before that came around, I used the regular Cleansing Conditioner on my dogs as a conditioner on the body only, not the head. Don't get it anywhere near their eyes. Having four dogs with long hair, this really helps detangle and smooth the hair for easy combing and it reduces frizz. It also makes them smell so good. The Replenishing Treatment Mist for pets is awesome. The spray bottle works very well for a quick spray. Just cover your dog's eyes. I have refilled it with filtered water and the Treatment Oil. My go-to dog shampoo and conditioner is Royal Treatment from HSN. I have used it since Prince Lorenzo Borghese first offered it many years ago. It's made in Italy with organic and natural ingredients.

I highly recommend you give WEN a try if you haven't already. If you have, what are your favorite WEN scents?

I ordered the new Fall Fresh Apple 32 oz but it doesn't ship until the 22nd so I can't post a review yet. Glad to hear it doesn't smell like former FAS, which was quite pungent (read: spicy). Ppl would comment, "why does it smell like an apple pie in here?" and I would have to reply, "It's just my shampoo!"
