Julep's Peyton Manicure

Peyton by Julep

This is a review of a nail polish from Julep called Peyton. It's a duo chrome nail polish that I received in my August Julep Subscription Box. Duo chrome polishes are my favorite type of nail polish. Julep describes Peyton as "violet dahlia duo chrome". It's part of the Wonder Maven collection and it's considered a shimmer. The above photo was taken during sunset. This polish appears as a dark purple indoors and it comes alive outdoors. In direct sunlight it reflects a dark purple and as you move your hand in the light it changes to a rich brownish-purple, then to a reddish purple and then into a vibrant gold. The entire time all of the ultra fine glitter lights up and it's so beautiful! It also has incredible reflection. It's perfect for fall.

I applied one coat of Perfect Formula's Manicure Booster, two coats of Peyton and one coat of Seche Vite Top Coat. I use Manicure Booster since it's the best base coat I know of on the market today. It keeps the nail polish from chipping longer than any base coat I've found. I use the Seche Vite Top coat because it dries so quickly and has an incredible shine. I also think it helps keep the polish from chipping. I usually apply another coat of Seche Vite in a day or two to help it last longer. Peyton has a very good consistency and is opaque. I applied two coats. I'm on day three and I have no chips or tip wear even having done a lot of typing, dishes and dog washing. I'll update this post when it starts to chip. Julep is one of my favorite brands of nail polish. Which brand is your favorite?

I have over eighty manicures featured on this blog. Check them all out on my Pinterest Manicure Board. When you see one you like, just click on the photo and it will take you to the matching blog post. I invite you to follow my blog via InstagramPinterestTwitterGoogle +Bloglovin'Networked Blogs and Zomato. Also, be sure to browse around my blog since I'm sure you'll find something else that interests you.

Update - I'm right handed so I had a bit of tip wear on the my right hand at day ten. The manicure didn't chip until day sixteen and that was only on my right index finger. I applied a second coat of Seche Vite a few days after I painted my nails.

If you haven't tried out Julep nail polish yet, give their subscription box a try today since you'll receive a twelve piece nail polish collection for free, link below!
