This is a review for an Asian restaurant called Goji Bistro located in Cary, North Carolina. They are located off North West Maynard Road. They are open daily from 11 am until 9 pm except on Friday and Saturday night when they stay open an additional hour. They are one of the few Asian restaurants in the area that doesn't close between lunch and dinner. I couldn't find their sanction score when I was there, so I looked it up online and it's 95, which is very good. I visited with my guest on a Tuesday afternoon around 2:30 pm. They had only two other sets of customers, so this is a good time to visit if you prefer a quiet atmosphere. The decor is lovely. They have lots of tables and a bar. We were greeted by a very friendly Asian lady and seated at a table right away.

The waitress showed up to greet us within one minute. I ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken off the lunch menu. It comes with your choice of soup or salad. I chose Hot & Sour Soup. My guest chose Broccoli Stir Fry without the rice and a salad with ranch dressing on the side. Within a couple of minutes our salad and soup were brought out. The Sweet & Sour Soup was served very warm, but not hot so I was able to eat it as soon as it arrived. It was delicious and I was given a generous amount of wontons which were very tasty. My guest enjoyed the mixed green salad which was very fresh. In only six minutes our entrees arrived. It arrived very hot, so I had to nibble at it until it cooled. The first bite of the chicken batter was crispy, but the rest had become soft since it was sitting in the sauce longer. The green & red peppers were cooked just enough so that they remained crisp which I prefer. I would have liked a bit more onion. The dish was very enjoyable. I also like how they didn't use too much sauce, just enough to coat the chicken and vegetables. My guest enjoyed the meal, but found the skirt steak a bit tough. They were very generous with the broccoli. The waitress was friendly and attentive and offered a Diet Coke to go which was kind.

If you are the mood for Chinese food, but want a lovely atmosphere to eat it in rather than take out, I recommend you give this restaurant a try. They also offer take out. It was a peaceful, inexpensive and delicious meal. The bill for this visit was only $20.51 before tip. That includes two entrees, soup or salad and one soda! My soda was $2.50. What's your favorite Asian restaurant in the Triangle?
