This is a review of the 52nd Home Chef box we have purchased. This week we gave one recipe five out of five stars and two recipes four out of five stars. Preparation time indicated on the recipe cards ranged from twenty-five to sixty minutes plus. Actual preparation time ranged from fifty minutes to ninety-five minutes. Mind you the longest one had a baking time of forty minutes. Calories ranged from 671 to 956. Our favorite recipe for the week was the Classic Veggie Lasagna which we have ordered a couple times before. Every time I see it offered I purchase it. It's so scrumptious!

Classic Veggie Lasagna with Zucchini, Mushrooms & Garlic Bread

We have purchased this meal several times now since it's so scrumptious and we've given it five out of five stars every time! Even my husband who declared when I met him that I'd never get him to eat vegetarian meals loves this dish! You will not miss the meat! It's also a huge portion, so it's very filling. You could even save a lunch portion for the next day, if you didn't want to eat a large dinner. The garlic bread was also delicious. Though we don't rub the garlic on the bread as indicated on the recipe card. We add it to the top after squeezing it in a garlic press since we love garlic. This recipe has only 671 calories and yet it tastes like it has so many more. This one takes over an hour since baking time is around forty minutes. It took Hubby about ninety-five minutes to prepare. The recipe card says over sixty minutes.

Steelhead Trout in Shallot Butter Sauce

I gave this recipe four out of five stars and Hubby gave it three stars. It was a simple recipe with a delicious sauce. Fish can be boring without a sauce, so I'm always up for trying a new sauce. This sauce is made right after cooking the trout without wiping the pan clean. It's made with olive oil, shallot, white wine, capers, evaporated milk, parsley, butter, salt and pepper and it's very tasty. This recipe has 730 calories and it's a healthy portion. This one took fifty-five minutes to prepare while the recipe card indicates up to thirty-five minutes.

Al Pastor Pork Tacos with Pineapples & Chipotle Pepper

Anytime they offer ground pork I tend to order it since the Home Chef recipes that include it tend to be some of our favorites. I was a bit nervous since this one had pineapple in the taco which I haven't had before and thought I might not enjoy the flavor. No need for nerves, this one was delicious. Home Chef tends to be dependable that way. I don't know why it has some many calories, it says 956, maybe it's a typo. It felt like a light meal so much so we thought it needed a side dish. We gave this one four out of five stars. To reach five stars it would need a side. This one indicated up to forty minutes preparation time and our actual preparation time was fifty minutes.

It was another enjoyable week of recipes. All of the ingredients arrived in great shape as shown above. The above photos were taken the day they were cooked, so it shows not how they looked when they arrived, but how they lasted until they were cooked. We are currently enjoying another week of recipes with one more recipe to go. So stay tuned for that box review soon. I have scheduled three deliveries for July since they look so appetizing.
