Play! by Sephora Subscription Box Review - March 2017

The Shine Is Now - The Gleam Team

This is the review of a monthly subscription box from Sephora called Play! by Sephora. It only costs $10 per month including shipping and it includes five cosmetic samples, one perfume sample and a cosmetic bag. They were sending everyone the same products each month, but now they have a couple of variations. If you ordered this month's, it may not include all of these products. This month the retail value of my box is $48.80. Included in my March box were the following samples:
    1. Living Proof - Full Dry Volume Blast, made in the USA, 3 oz., retail value $15.00
    2. Bobby Brown - Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink, made in Italy, $10 approximate retail value
    3. Glamglow - Mega Illuminating Moisturizer, made in the USA, .24 oz, $6.91 retail value
    4. Josie Maran - Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm, made in the USA, .1 oz, $7.20 retail value
    5. Benefit Cosmetics - Watt's Up Cream to Powder Highlighter, made in Italy, .08 oz., $7.22 retail value
    6. Chloé - Fleur de Parfum, made in France, .04 fl. oz., $2.47 retail value
The only one I'm not sure of it's retail value is the Bobby Brown eyeshadow since it's size is not labeled. I guess it's about 1/3 the size of the original. I'm always excited to receive a product from Glamglow since I'm a big fan of their line of products. Each one I have tried has been awesome. It is pricey though so I've only purchased sample sizes. I also love the Josie Maran line and I use her Argan body butter daily. This product sample is a primer which seems a bit too oily for me. It's suppose to give a bit of a glow. The Living Proof Volume Blast smells pretty good for a hairspray and it goes on dry for sure. It reminds me of a dry shampoo. I don't find that it gives much volume to my fine, thin long hair. I'll stick with regular hairspray or even dry shampoo. The Bobby Brown eye shadow appears to be a rose gold color on my eyelids. It has a metallic glittery look to it and it's easy to apply. It's pretty, but I'm not sure that's the best color for fair skin. I've tried a sample of the Benefit highlighter before but it fell out of the tube, so I wasn't able to use it more than once. So I'll be looking forward to trying it again several more times to evaluate it better. First impression is that it's a quick, easy and pretty highlighter. I don't care for the scent of the Chloé perfume. It's top notes are lemon essence, absolute verbena and freesia. It's middle notes are rose and cherry blossom and the base notes are white cedar essence, bitter almond and amber. My favorite product it this box is the Glamglow Moisturizer.
