This is a review of our 3rd shipment from a food subscription box called Sun Basket. I especially enjoy this meal kit service since they offer two breakfasts for the price of one dinner! The competition only gives you one for the same price. They have really fun and tasty meals like overnight pudding, smoothies, smoothie bowls and overnight oatmeal. They are unique and not your typical boring breakfast choices! Overnight oatmeal bowls and overnight pudding are really popular right now and what's great about them is that you can make them the night before. In the morning, grab them from your frig and out the door you go. This week we gave one recipe five out of five stars, one recipe four stars and two recipes three stars. The calories ranged from 290 to 760 and the preparation time ranged from 5 minutes to 40 minutes. All of the recipes I chose are gluten free, three out of the four recipes I chose are paleo and two were vegetarian. They have one set of two breakfast recipes and ten dinner recipes to chose from each week. Servings cost $11.49 each. They are currently offering a $15 Amazon gift card, if you purchase five out of eight Globetrotter recipes. The two recipes I've seen so far look scrumptious. I'll be receiving the first one tomorrow which is Bangkok Chicken Wings with Coconut Pineapple Rice. It's a Paleo, gluten free and dairy free recipe.

Huevos Rancheros

This was a quick and easy breakfast that was tasty. We gave it only three out of five stars since it wasn't spicy like we were expecting. The pasture raised organic eggs, cilantro, queso fresco cheese and chile sauce were really tasty. It took about ten minutes to prepare and it had only 410 calories. It was a healthy portion.

Gingered Turkey Meatballs in Lemongrass Broth

This was our favorite recipe this week and we gave it five out of five stars. Wow, this was so scrumptious! If this was served at a local restaurant I'd be ordering it every week. It's definitely on our list to make again since I'm already craving it. The broth made with lemongrass paste, Serrano chile and coconut milk was so delicious! The turkey meatballs made with ginger, garlic, coriander, almond meal, lime zest, cilantro, egg, salt & pepper were scrumptious. The addition of cauliflower, cashews and mint was awesome. We used all of the Serrano chile since we love spicy food and left my lips tingling. We didn't use all of the mint since we're not big fans of a lot of mint in our dishes. This one had 720 calories and it took about forty minutes to prepare. It was a healthy portion.

Chorizo & Tomatilla Chilli

We were expecting this one to be spicy and it mostly tasted tart, so we were disappointed. It was tasty, but not worthy of more than three out of five stars due to this issue. There were too many tomatillos and they were tart. We would have liked more of the chorizo and less of the tomatillos. Perhaps some jalapeño would have helped. This one had 760 calories and it took about thirty-five minutes to prepare. It was a healthy portion.

Overnight Chia Pudding

I gave this one four out of five stars. I didn't let it sit overnight because I'm not a fan of chia seeds once they have plumped up. So I just made mine a smoothie bowl instead. I was shocked that it actually started thickening up while I was eating it. It's made with almond milk, maple syrup, berries and black chia seeds. The Carlo's Grain Free Granola they sent was super tasty. It was chewy and crunchy, perfect! As shown above, the berries were squished during shipping, so I sent them an email letting them know. They gave me a $15 credit which was generous. I bought some fresh blueberries to substitute. That was the only ingredient issue I had with this box. This recipe has 290 calories and it took about five minutes to prepare. It was a healthy portion.

Well it was another enjoyable week of recipes from Sun Basket. I'd order more frequently, but they currently only offer Wednesday delivery in my area. Friday or Saturday delivery is better for us since Hubby is often out of town on weekdays. I highly recommend this food subscription box! If you haven't given it a try, what are you waiting for? They use twelve ice packs, so everything arrives cold. Check out my Sun Basket Pinterest Board to see what recipes we have made so far.
