This is a review of our 16th delivery from a food subscription box called Plated. We gave two recipes four out of five stars and one recipe three out of five stars. Preparation time ranged from twenty-five to forty-five minutes and calories ranged from 410-720. If you are here for the giveaway only, scroll down to the bottom of this post.

Their weekly box for two people which includes everything for three recipes costs $72. Each week they also have two desserts to chose from for $8 and two "Chef's Table" dinners which are more expensive and feature specialty cuts of meat and market priced seafood.

Fresh Spaghetti with Heirloom Tomatoes & Burrata

We gave this recipe four out of five stars. It was delicious! To reach five stars it would need the addition of some garlic bread and more sauce. I love fresh pasta, the texture is so much better and this was a nice thick spaghetti. It took only about twenty-five minutes to prepare and it was an easy recipe. It had 890 calories and it was a very filling and generous portion.

Herb Crusted Fish with Eggplant, Squash & Tomato Ratatouille

We gave this recipe three out of five stars. The fish didn't have much flavor by itself and the herbes de Provence added some flavor to it but we weren't crazy about it. The fish didn't have a crust as described by the title. It needed a sauce rather than just butter and spices. The eggplant was a bit mushy while the squash was cooked perfectly. I'm not really crazy about cherry tomatoes, I would have preferred a different type of tomato. This one took about forty minutes to prepare and it had only 410 calories. It was tasty for a low calorie meal and It was filling.

Orecchiette & Italian Sausage with Summer Squash & Sage Brown Butter

This was my favorite recipe for the week and we gave it four out of five stars. It was scrumptious! I loved the Italian sausage and the texture of the orecchiette pasta. To reach five stars it would have needed some garlic bread, more tomato and a bit more sauce. It took about thirty-five minutes to prepare and it had 720 calories. It was a generous and filling portion.

Whenever Plated has a pasta dish I usually order it since the majority of them are four or five stars. Often they are vegetarian, but we usually don't miss the meat since their pasta recipes are so tasty.  It was another enjoyable week of recipes as we have come to expect from Plated. Most of their recipes are four or five stars so we find them very dependable. Also, the majority of the time the ingredients arrive in perfect shape and are of high quality. I just wish they had a referral program or an occasional discount since their price is pretty high in comparison to the competition. What's your favorite subscription box?
