This is a review of a restaurant located in the Cancun International Airport called Air Margaritaville. It's located in Terminal 3 on the upper floor in the center. Notice the bar in the above photo, all the tables surround it on three sides and on the other side is their souvenir shop behind their kitchen. I happened to catch a lady posing in a funny way.  I didn't notice until I looked at the photo when we got home. It's a very busy airport so there was a lot of action all around us.

We had a two hour wait for our flight home, so we stopped there for a drink and to share a meal. Warning, the Cancún Airport will not inform you of which gate your flight will depart at until only sixty minutes prior. I'm sure this is so that you will be forced to shop in the many stores or eat at one of the several restaurants located on the 2nd floor. If you sign up for text alerts from the airline you are flying with then you won't have to wait that long to find out. I highly recommend you do that since this airport is very large and very crowded. You'll want to head over to your gate as soon as you can. We started with alcoholic drinks. I ordered a License to Chill which has gold tequila, blue curaçao, lime juice and their margarita mix. I was feeling really hot, so I ordered it frozen and it really cooled me down quick. It was the best margarita I've had in years and they were not skimpy with the tequila which I greatly appreciated. It was a really nice change since during our entire stay in Mexico all the mixed drinks we ordered had no alcohol or very little alcohol in them. It's best to stick with wine or beer unless you know they actually put alcohol in their drinks. Unfortunately, this is very common in Mexico. I witnessed a bar tender making my drink with only fruit juice and no alcohol at our hotel, so beware. Hubby ordered a Hurricane which has light run, dark rum, grenadine, pineapple juice and orange juice and he really enjoyed it. Thankfully, we decided to order a meal to share because our flight was late arriving in Charlotte so we didn't have enough time for a meal before our connecting flight. The Coconut Shrimp was ok, but not as good as the version we had from room service at the Ritz Carlton. The french fries were average and I didn't sample the vegetables. The burgers I saw being served to other customers looked really good. I highly recommend their margaritas! The service was very friendly and attentive. They wear t-shirts and grass skirts, even the males! Our waiter spoke five languages, very impressive. It's a very festive atmosphere and if you love to people watch this restaurant is the perfect location for that since it's in the center. You can also watch some the flights take off which I love to do. What's your favorite airport restaurant?
