Josie Maran QVC TSV - Whipped Argan Oil Buttery Soft Skin 4 Piece Collection

Review of Josie Maran's TSV of February 2016

This is a review of Josie Maran's latest Today's Special Value (TSV) from QVC, item number A270283. It had a TSV price of $69.96 or 3 payments of $23.32. That's only $17.49 for each product. It has a retail value of $163, so this one is quite the bargain! Unfortunately, I was only able to order it two days prior to it airing, so I wasn't able to review it in advance to help you decide whether or not to order it. While this item sold out, the products are available separately, so I thought I would give you my opinion of the items included in this TSV. Included in the collection were the following products:
  1. Argan Color Stick in Irresistible, .55 oz, $22 retail value
  2. Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Vanilla Almond, 13.5 fl. oz., $53 value
  3. Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter, 1.7 fl. oz., $40 value
  4. 100% Pure Argan Oil, 1.7 fl. oz., $48 value
I absolutely love her Whipped Body Butters! I've been addicted to them since I gave them a try after purchasing her November TSV. They are extremely moisturizing and they have the perfect consistency, not too thick nor too thin. While at first glance they look a bit oily on the skin, it sinks in very quickly and leaves your skin as soft as silk. Wintertime is a true test of a moisturizer since the humidity levels are so low and skin gets so dry. This is the only moisturizer that I have found that can handle dry skin of winter. All of her scented body butters I have tried smell really good and this one is no exception. You only need a little bit, so use less than you would normally use of another brand.

I was excited to try her Face Butter because I find her 100% Pure Argan Oil a bit too oily to apply prior to putting on makeup. I really love it! It's so much like the body butter in texture and application. It leaves your skin super soft without an oily appearance. So it's perfect to use prior to applying your makeup without a long wait for it to sink in. I'm hoping after I run out that she'll have it in another TSV because it has a $40 retail value which is too pricey for me. Note that the Face Butter comes in a glass jar while the Body Butter comes in a thick plastic jar. There was an air bubble in it, so I just tapped it on the counter and it came out.

I wasn't excited about receiving the color stick, since cream blushes don't usually work on me. Since the TSV was such a bargain it wouldn't matter if I didn't use it. I actually found it quite good. It is the first cream blush that I've ever been able to blend well. Usually they just have a clown look because they won't blend and they usually go on too heavy with just one application. I actually had to apply it several times to get a good amount of color. I wouldn't chose it over powder blush, but I will use it occasionally. It's so wide it's a bit difficult to apply as a lipstick, but it's extremely moisturizing. It's also too large to throw in my handbag, so I'm using it at home for days I don't wear a full face of makeup.

The first product I tried of Josie's was her 100% Pure Argan Oil when it was sent to me in a subscription box. At first I would just sell it on my blog sale because I wasn't crazy about it. But Hubby has really dry skin, so now I give it to him and he likes it. I find it too oily for my liking, I just don't like how it feels on the skin. Occasionally, I use it when my skin is especially dry and only at night prior to bed. I can't use it prior to applying makeup because it just sits on top of my skin and it's too oily.

This TSV is a winner for sure! If you are able to get a good price on her Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter or her Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter, I highly recommend you give them a try. They are my favorite products in the Josie Maran line. 1. I am loving this set! So happy with the the A/D option. The 100% pure oil was my first Josie product and remains my favorite in her collection. I'm obviously not using the color stick, but as you said, the value is still substantial. Plus, I can give it as a gift. The 13.5oz body butter is what really got me. Not as fun as the 19oz, but still enough to last me a few months. I use it too quickly! I hope October's Gingerbread doesn't disappoint and is, in fact, different from the Ginger she offered a few months ago. I haven't purchased the face butter before, so I was anxious to try it. While I still haven't determined where it belongs in my routine, I love the feeling of my skin after applying it!

    1. She said to use her milk first, then the new face butter and then the oil. That is if you need that much moisturization. I find the face butter by itself during the day is enough and at night I add another product or use a different one. Yes, the color stick makes a lovely gift. The 19 oz jar must be really heavy. I was surprised how heavy the 13.5 oz one is! Gingerbread should smell really good, fingers crossed. I have found that the face butter takes longer than other moisturizers to wash off. Have you had that experience? I haven't noticed that with the body butter.

    2. Thank you for the info! I'm now able to layer the milk, butter, and just enough of the SPF 47 moisturizer with no problem. I haven't noticed that the face butter takes any longer to wash off (probably because my Luna is doing the work), but you have to be right. It is deceptively thick when transferring from the jar to the face. No issues with the body butter here either though. Have you tried the Divine Drip? Weird scent, but I'm really liking it. I hope she offers a Super Size later this year.

    3. You're welcome, Seth! Yep, received Devine Drip in another TSV. Saving it to use on my cuticles and feet. I had to stir it around when it first arrived to make it easier to use. I agree, the scent isn't great.
