This is a review of a subscription box called Home Chef. This is the 15th box we have purchased from them. Meals are $9.95 a serving, smoothies are $4.95 a serving and the fruit basket costs $9.90. Each week they have eleven dinner recipes to chose from featuring steak, chicken, ground beef, pork and seafood and three are vegetarian. They also have one breakfast recipe, one smoothie and one fruit basket to chose from. This week we enjoyed the Salmon recipe the most. It was incredibly delicious. I only chose two dinner recipes this week since Hubby was out of town for most of the week.

Salmon Crusted with Everything Bagel Seasoning with Chive Sour Cream, Arugula Salad & Lemon Caper Vinaigrette

I chose this recipe because it looked very unusual and delicious. We both gave it five out of five stars! It felt like a meal from a very fancy restaurant that would cost a fortune. The salmon was perfectly moist. The vinaigrette was surprising yummy and was made with capers, shallot, lemon juice, olive oil, salt & pepper. Very simple yet so good. The chive sour cream wasn't even necessary there was so much flavor from the bagel seasoning which consisted of garlic, onion, poppy and sesame seeds. The recipe indicated it would take thirty minutes to prepare, but it took a bit longer. This recipe had only 426 calories yet it didn't taste like diet food at all. If they feature this recipe again, I will definitely order it again! Now that the cooler weather is here, I'm ordering seafood recipes again.

Asian Sesame Chicken Salad with Mandarin Oranges & Almonds

This recipe tasted like diet food yet it had 616 calories. It tasted similar to Wendy's fast food mandarin salad but with a larger portion of chicken and spinach instead of lettuce. I wasn't crazy about the dressing. We gave it three out of five stars. While it was tasty, it's not a recipe I plan to repeat. It took about thirty-five minutes to prepare and it was a large portion so I had leftovers for lunch.

Strawberry Chia Chocolate Cheerleader with Orange & Agave Nectar

This recipe was the first smoothie we didn't enjoy much. Perhaps it was because I left out the Agave Nectar since I'm allergic to it. The orange wasn't very ripe and I didn't have enough strawberries. Also, the chia seeds were missing from my box. I will email them to let them know. They always give me a store credit when there are issues like these which isn't often. It only took about five minutes to prepare and it had 211 calories.

The fruit basket was enjoyable as usual. Everything was ready to eat except the nectarines which just needed a couple of days to ripen. So there you have it, my review of our 15th delivery. I received a Hello Fresh box today, so that's what I'll be reviewing next.
