Dermstore.com Tarte Bargains

Dermstore Haul - October 2012

Tarte The Buffer Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush ($32 retail)  & Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation - Ivory ($38 retail)

I purchased the above Tarte cosmetics for only $24.00 ($70 retail value) from Dermstore.com.  How you ask? First off, when you subscribe to the Beauty Fix quarterly cosmetic subscription service and fill out 2 surveys you receive a $25 gift card for any purchase over $50, once every quarter!  Secondly, I did surveys on myOp4G.com and used $21.00 of my credits on paypal.  Even without the later, that would make each product only $22.50 each!  The order also included the free samples above and a free 1 year Self Magazine subscription (no automatic renewal).  If you would like a free $10 gift card to start your order, please comment below with your email address and I will email one to you.  Unfortunately, the only way to send it to you is via email through their website.  Each card is a unique code, so I can't post it here.  If you would like $20 off your first Beauty Fix box, also comment with your email address below.  You can read about my first Beauty Fix box, here.  Don't forget to use Mr. Rebates when you order, since they are currently offering 10% cash back.  Never heard of Mr. Rebates? You are missing out, check it out here and read about it on my blog, here.

I have been using Bare Minerals foundation for about 7 years now and as I have aged I find it is making my wrinkles look worse with it on than off.  So I have been doing research via blogs and YouTube to find my next foundation choice.  Tarte foundation kept coming up as recommended and it looked good on others, so I decided to give it a try.  I am very happy with this foundation!  It goes on like a liquid, but sort of finishes off like a powder since it dries very quickly.  I just dot a bit on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin and brush it on with the Tarte brush.  I have been hesitating buying a liquid foundation because I can't stand how it looks on my skin (usually too dark) and how yucky it feels.  Well Tarte really has improved liquid foundation!  This doesn't make my skin itch like Bare Minerals does sometimes.  Also, it matches my skin tone perfectly.  If you visit the Tarte website they will give you a better idea which one would work on you.   I also visited Ulta to make sure it matched on my hand.  I've heard you can get a sample at Sephora, but my local Sephora doesn't give out samples.  The Ivory is for fair skin with cool tones.  The only negative is if you have any dry patches, it will make them show up.  So make sure you exfoliate and moisturize till they are gone.  I couldn't even see the dry patches prior to applying the Tarte foundation. It is also easy to remove and doesn't come off so easily when you have to blow your nose!  Don't you hate having to reapply foundation because of that!  Those nasty allergies!  Now I'm on the search for a concealer for fair skin, any suggestions?

So there you have it, my latest bargain to share with you.  Don't you love a bargain?  What was your last score? Comment below please!
